"So close..oh we were just a play away..oh we had the game in our hands...if it wasnt for that damn late interception..if we only had a timeout" excuses for the last 11 years
Playoffs are great..obviously you're happy with getting close every year and not winning..you're the perfect fan for this organ-i-zation..you fit the Gold Standard of being an Eagle Fan
Some fans are fed up with the same old shit every year..call me a bandwagon fan if you want but we're living in reality
Man, some of you guys are awfully cranky this morning!!!! OF COURSE we don't like losing. YES, we want to win a Superbowl and not just win games...I don't think there's a fan of any sport that is alright with just doing average.
I'm also not going to go cry in my cornflakes and say "woe is me, we didn't win, blah blah blah." I'm going to look forward to the next game and expect to win. I always expect them to win...I get bummed when we lose or when we play bad, and I get stoked when we win...isn't that what most fans do?
I dont think anyone is crying, just stating concerns that pop up EVERY year. In years past it wasnt such a big deal because we were so much better then the other nfc teams. But when a slightly above average team keeps making these same mistakes fans arent as forgiven. Which is why the past couple of years the reid and mcnabb abuse has gotten worse. Im not gonna cry about the lose but express concern and hope that the front office has seen enough to say thank you for 11 or so great years but its time to move on. Being good is fine for a while but at some point u want greatness. And i dont believe these 2 together can bring greatness here anymore. Theres no doubt that they can give us good seasons, and i know that any team can get hot a win the superbowl. But this group has showed that even when they are great its just not enough. d-Mac and Andy are a very pretty silver medal that just cant reach gold and gold is the goal when u start out the season. Which makes silver a loser just like all the rest. Silver was good years ago but once u are silver only gold will do. Ty andy and d-mac wish u all the best whether its here or else where but imo i want change and im as big as a EAGLES fan as anyone.
Also i do agree that injuries have killed us this season. But even with the injuries the play calling has been horrendous and that lands on the big mans door. Go Eagles!!!!!
back to the reid thing....i think there is something to be said for the national media to finally start coming around on this. mike lombardi recently called him the worst game day manager in the league. i think that is a little harsh, but it just echoes what a lot of us have been seeing these past few years: mismanaging timeouts, not getting plays in on time, throwing the ball 75-80% of the time....the list goes on and on here.
Marty says Donovan was right; Gocong shuffles back
Offensive coordinator Marty Mornhinweg said if quarterback Donovan McNabb yelled over on camera during Sunday's loss to San Diego that the Eagles should have run the ball on third-and-1 from the 7-yard line, "He was probably right."
The TV cameras appeared to catch McNabb after one of the Eagles’ failed red zone excursions, turning toward the sideline and seeming to yell “just run the ball,” or something similar.
Mornhinweg said that he needs to do better at looking beyond which play should work against a particular defense, to the personnel he has trying to run the play.
"You've got to play to your players' strengths," he said.
"You've got to play to your players' strengths," he said.
yup, yup...let's see if they listen to this on Sunday!
i am actually looking forward to this one. most people i talk to have lost all kinds of interest. but i like the sense of urgency coming out of mcnabb and quinten mikel. they're both saying it's a must win. q said its their "super bowl" which is actually kind of stupid. but at least they are not just giving us what they would think reid would want them to say.
hopefully reid has taken his pass happy meds and focuses on grinding it out some against a bad rush defense. .....yeah, maybe not. hopefully. we need this one. 2nd half schedule is not as tough as it originally looked.
They SHOULD beat Chicago, even if Westbrook ain't playing. I think the defense will come up big in this game and the offense will play above average.

we can't lose this one though. i say birds 23-13
Our secondary scares me more. Remember - we lossed to Oakland. Fucking Oakland.
then jay cutler is just what the doctor ordered.
i guarantee we win this one. it's the kind of game we always win after a couple lackluster losses. donny mac back in chicago, always puts up solid efforts. i think we will see them actually run the ball more too. i really do. andy always comes to his senses right about the time when the season is on the verge of being lost...and that is excactly where we will be if we lose tomorrow night.
see. when you commit to the run good things happen. mccoy---20 carries, 99 yards and the game winning td. i liked how they went right back to him after the fumble. they didn't have many other choices but usually big red would stay away from him and the run all together after a play like that. this was good. you can tell the o line got into a nice rythm tonight and the run had a lot to do with it.
solid effort from both sides of the ball. even with all the injuries, i think the defense looked pretty good. special teams teams still is giving up too many yards. sav rocca stinks.
i still see us ending up 10-6. gotta take care of the skins at home next week and the falcons after that....then off to the meadowlands for another sunday nighter.
The win was big,but still hate the play calling. Mccoy was running strong especially when weaver was in lead blocking. And are run defense needs to get it together. Bring on the skins.
Huge win. If we would have lost that would have been bad because the Bears would be tied with us and have the tie breaker. The conference win was what we needed. Vick actually showed up, allbeit for 1 play. Defense played well offense played steady.

really? :wtf:
what was your problem with the play calling? 21 runs, 32 passes seems just right to me. i think that was one of the better called games we've had all year, if not the best.
and other than the 72 yard run, the bears had about 45 yards.

You're absolutely right--the play calling was lousy. I hate the short pass on 2nd or 3rd and 10+....it didn't work all game...bring Vick back in and let him run thru the Bears defense! And, our defense wasn't good either, but at least they made a big play at the end of the game to get the win.

I felt like the calls were just off--wrong plays at the wrong time, something just seemed not right and I didn't like it (how's that for an explanation  boo, me! )
Not satisfied with this win at all, but then again I have no idea what the fuck to think of the NFL this year... Dallas barely beats Washington, KC beats Shittsburgh, etc. etc.
And whoever thinks our run D sucked tonight doesn't know what they're talking about. Yes, the past couple of weeks sure, but other than that long run by a nobody they dominated the line of scrimmage. It was one play.
With that said, this win means nothing to me nor shows me anything about this team.
