oh jesus....you're the bandwagon guy from last year right?

yes I am - sorry it is just nauseating to listen to 'so-called' fans jump ship and rip on this team every time they lose a game. Of course each year they all come back when Andy and Donovon lead another charge into the playoffs - please don't deny what I am saying is true.

at what point did i say that was not true?....

Bandwagon? no. I've lived and died with this team and every team I follow. I've been frustrated with teams in the past and I've gotten angry over losses and said things out of frustration but this time I've had enough of Andy Reid and Donovan McNabb. Its time for a change. Thanks for the 5 NFC Championship games. Thanks for the Super Bowl appearance. Now theres the door. I dont jump on bandwagons.

You guess all you want. If the Eagles make it to the Super Bowl this season and Andy Reid and McNabb get to ride down the street on a float good for them..just make sure you get them to pack their bags before the celebration so they can get THE HELL OUT afterwards. But I dont see that happening. I'd eve keep McNabb for another season..MAYBE..I just want Reid and his terrible play calling OUT

  • I would never give up on the eagles. And i wouldnt be suprised if they went on a run like last year. But i do think its time for change and there are many good coaches sitting out there at the moment. Andy Reid is a damn good coach but his way wins games not titles. D-Mac is the greatest Eagles qb ever but he wins games not titles. And i know u have to win games to even sniff a title but its the same story with the same ending. I will root for this team like they are 9-0 but in my opinion think that even if they make a run and make it to the superbowl next year change is needed.

man some of you jump ship awfully quick - we went through this last year. We lost a game to a good team on the road - the world is not ending. This team will be fine - and Reid and McNabb are the best we ever had - stop it people. Not running the ball had nothing to do with losing the game - another tired argument by so-called Eagles fans and the media. we didn't score touchdowns - that is why we lost. We will be fine - 10-6 right there for the division title again for like the 10th out of 11 years for Andy and Donovan.

Man, some of you guys are awfully cranky this morning!!!! OF COURSE we don't like losing. YES, we want to win a Superbowl and not just win games...I don't think there's a fan of any sport that is alright with just doing average.

I'm also not going to go cry in my cornflakes and say "woe is me, we didn't win, blah blah blah." I'm going to look forward to the next game and expect to win. I always expect them to win...I get bummed when we lose or when we play bad, and I get stoked when we win...isn't that what most fans do?

I dont think anyone is crying, just stating concerns that pop up EVERY year. In years past it wasnt such a big deal because we were so much better then the other nfc teams. But when a slightly above average team keeps making these same mistakes fans arent as forgiven. Which is why the past couple of years the reid and mcnabb abuse has gotten worse. Im not gonna cry about the lose but express concern and hope that the front office has seen enough to say thank you for 11 or so great years but its time to move on. Being good is fine for a while but at some point u want greatness. And i dont believe these 2 together can bring greatness here anymore. Theres no doubt that they can give us good seasons, and i know that any team can get hot a win the superbowl. But this group has showed that even when they are great its just not enough. d-Mac and Andy are a very pretty silver medal that just cant reach gold and gold is the goal when u start out the season. Which makes silver a loser just like all the rest. Silver was good years ago but once u are silver only gold will do. Ty andy and d-mac wish u all the best whether its here or else where but imo i want change and im as big as a EAGLES fan as anyone.

This team is riddled with injuries and other miscellanea of crap. You're not going to win when you throw the ball 55 times, run ELDRA FUCKING BUCKLEY on the 1 inch line instead of handing off to 250+ lbs of Leonard Weaver more than once, and concede to your offensive line that you have no confidence in them and kick field goals all day. Receiving corps is down to 4 receivers with one being incompetent(Reggie Brown), offensive line is thin, a linebacking group that has Gocong in the middle and Moises Fokou at Sam back, secondary has Sheldon Brown absent figuratively, Hanson absent literally, Samuel sucking his thumb, and DMITRI PATTERSON GETTING A MAJORITY OF SNAPS. No, this is not going to end well. Injuries have killed this season. There's no way they only lose two more games.

Then it is up to the GENERAL MANAGER to have compitent backups. Teams have injuries..it happens...but when you have to relie up unused or just plain terrible backups its difficult to field a team. Andy Reid has always been to blame for the teams makeup..give the job up to someone else and let them be responsible and you concentrate on updating that playbook. On a side note and nothing to do with my previous comment..Can you honestly believe we wasted a roster position on Vick?! Use the friggin guy! He comes in to hand off? He looks timid and the plays NEVER WORK.

Vick is here as a favor to the commissioner. I guarantee it.

They did have competent backups. You can't have a roster absolutely staunched with solid backups. Bradley, Gaither, Mays, Curtis, Hanson, Ingram, Gilles, Dunlap, Clemons, Jordan, Westbrook, Abiamiri, Gocong, Shawn Flaming Andrews, Stacy Andrews, Herremans, Peters - these are all solid starters and backups, who for one reason or another have been hurt or done something absolutely dumb that has cost them the duration or a part of the season. That is WAY TOO MANY. You can't expect to win through all this. And, yes, what the Giants did in '07 was a fluke. That does not - and will not - happen every year. Not even every 10 years.

Didn't the "I completely give up on the Eagles" comments happen last year as well?

Someone find the 2008 thread ... I swear, someone went on a midseason "I don't care about this team anymore, I don't care if they make the palyoffs" type tirade.

But Andy is God on feet! I mean thats what he tries to portray right? He should be able to take me and you and make us a run stopping machine! Yes we had a lot of injuries..but there are still bodies to execute and thats whats they are SUPPOSE to do.

Vick was a lottery ticket that didn't pan out. Hoping to trade him in the off season for a nice draft pick.

I can't beleive Eagles fans don't understand that.

Didnt pan out? Didnt even have a chance to work out. What cant you exactly believe? The guy comes in and hands the ball off and they have no plan to make it a better situation. They havent made the guy look good where he is trade bait in the offseason..as a matter of fact most teams are probably looking at the situation and saying "man this guy hasnt played QB in years..pass" so what exactly dont us "eagles fans" understand..

It's so tough, I'm an outsider, but I always liked the Eagles.

I think most non-Eagles fans think you guys are way too hard on McNabb ... and about right on Reid. But still, 75 - 85% of the league would gradly trade their situation for the Reid / McNabb duo.

Only a few more years left for McNabb ... might as well run it out with Reid ... who else is going to coach this team? Gruden? Cowher?

there is only one reason Vick isn't in on more plays, he's not that good anymore. He's not nearly as fast as he was, and he needed his speed to be dynamic. That's why he's not in the game more.

They tried ... if he had shown some hints of being good, they could have picked up his option and traded him ... but now, I'm guessing they just cut him.

Someone find the 2008 thread ... I swear, someone went on a midseason "I don't care about this team anymore, I don't care if they make the palyoffs" type tirade.

I probably did and it will happen every year until they DO SOMETHING. You cant keep teasing before there are enough blue balls to call foul...I mean you can only grind the prom queen so much before you HAVE to stick it in..and if its not with her its gonna be with someone else...well...I for one am ready for the home run underneath the bleachers..lets go Lurie...get me my home run!

Gruden? Cowher?

Well, I fully agree on the McNabb thing. But I can play both sides of the fence on this. On one hand, yes, I believe people are too hard on McNabb in this city because he does put up results. On the other side, and I have always been a McNabb supporter, he just doesn't have that killer instinct and also we live and breath with this team everyday so I think we're more detailed in what we say and evaluate as opposed to those on the "outside." Reid, on the other hand, has great organization skill and building a winning team. But the difference in being a winning team and a championship team is the ability to switch up even your own philosophy to go that next step - ie not making halftime adjustments like in the Super Bowl to defend the screen or going to a no-huddle offense, mis-management of time. But, yeah, you're right that any team in this league would pay a king's ransom to have Reid as their coach. To that, some kind of change needs to be made. Everything that happened yesterday is what's been going on for 11 years now.

And for the record, Shannahan was never a great coach. I'll admit he knows how to run the ball though. But he acquired a lot of Reeves' scheme and of course Elway. I think it's pretty evident to everything Shanahan did once Elway retired.

I actually think that if Vick were given a real chance, he could be good again...one or two passes here and there doesn't give much of an indication of how he'd hold up in full-game situations. I'd be interested in seeing it...

yes they did and I was buried on here last year for calling them bandwagon fans because so many last year said they were done with this team. lo and behold 6-8 weeks later they are in the NFC Championship again. let the season play out is all i say. one loss is not the end of the world - looking at realistically on paper you'd have to concede yesterday's game was going to be very difficult to win anyways. A good team on the road with 1 starting linebacker, 3 cornberbacks out by halftime, left tackle out, not to mention Westbrook leaving again (retire Brian for your own health's sake).

Dude, you call everyone in this thread a bandwagon fan. You really do go out of your way to make sure of that. We get it. You are the most loyal fan here, we get it. You are the end-all be-all in judging who are and who are not true fans. God forbid anyone criticizes this team.

when you say 'I am done with this team" yet are back cheering later you are the epitome of a bandwagon fan - i'm not saying all who complain about the team are that way. i did not call everyone on here complaining a bandwagon fan. many of the complaints are legitimate - let's just remember that they don't award Super Bowls after 9 or 10 games. This time last year the Giants were the best team in the NFC and we kicked their asses in the playoffs. did our fans not learn anything last year? It is a loooonnng season - let it play out before you fire the coach and quarterback which we tend to do in Philly after every loss. why do we treat every loss like the end of the freakin world - we are 5-4 right in the hunt for the division title.

And again how did last year end ?

Your argument would hold water if they won 2 Super Bowls coming close every year does not get a trophy the last time I checked

All the seasons take on a life of their own and end the same...not winning it all

Time to move on with this regime

Yes it could be like Cleveland around here but at the end of the day its about winning it all

6-10 or worse or making the playoffs and losing..you're still a losing team

I don't ever wanna be Cleveland. If there's ever been a dumber fucking argument it is the one where someone says, "What would you rather have - be competitive ever year or win a Super Bowl and then be terrible for years?" I HATE this stupid fucking hypothetical. OF COURSE I would take the championship, but it doesn't work like that. There's no such thing as deals with the devil or looking into a crystal ball. The people who say picking the option to be competitive every year is stupid, are in fact the morons. Because being competitive every year puts you in a position to win. People look at this shit all wrong. Again, do I wanna be the bride's maid every year? Of course not, but to apparently "go for it all"(whatever in the hell that means) and then be terrible in the aftermath is fucking retarded. With that said, in the NFL today, rebuilding only takes about 3 years if you draft moderately well, build your teams from the front lines on out, and have a manageable quarterback, they can be back in this. In all reality, Donovan is most likely gone after this year anyway, and Reid isn't going anywhere. And I'm fine with that. I would never agree with blowing the whole thing up, but it's not as bad of an idea as some think. As long as your management have their heads on straight then things will be alright.

The biggest pro to the Reid regime is that not only do they build the team to be competitive "in the now", but also for the future. And that's a sound thing knowing you're in this thing even when your franchise quarterback is on the way out, the best running back in the Eagles history's career is officially over(yes he was. and yes it is.)

is someone having a parade this week for winning the Super Bowl already? THE SEASON IS BARELY HALF-OVER - let it play out before you declare it a complete waste.
