Sharing this with you cat people, cuz I think you will appreciate it. I ordered a watercolour painting of my sweet Juniper from an artist on Etsy.  She sent me this preview. I LOVE it!

Wow. That is a great painting and a beautiful cat.

Someone decided to be an asshole this morning.

This would be apple cake batch 2. (There was a glass breakage incident with batch 1.)

At least the household kitson did not touch the Mother's Day loaves to be delivered today. They are wrapped and on the table.

Still, there is supposed to be no kitson on the counters or table. Someone is in trouble...

He’s very long. It’s kinda of weird. Wonder what kind of cat papa was?

There’s an inappropriate comment I could make about that.

No. I think he's longer than our dog, though. And she's your typical pound puppy (i.e., hound, lab, pit mix).

(^^^ Pic from February and he’s not stretched out, but you can see the size of the dog in it.)

He also doesn't land on his feet if you drop him or swipe him off a counter, table, etc. that he shouldn't be on, even if I drop him from about thigh height. He lands on his butt in a sitting position. I kind of think that the kids fucked him up somehow when he was a tiny fella.

    He’s still a cute guy.

Awww. I have scratches on my mat from Beans, and she got her claw into one of my bands and ripped it.

Happy Adoption Day Kali! 12 years ago you came into my life mainly has a companion for willow. 13 years old and relatively healthy (she still has the “betes”). Also still pretty much the same feisty/playful/sweet cat

My cat's claws seem to be getting a little more 'hooky" on my clothes.  Any recommendations?  I have a scratching pad.  I don't think getting those rubber tips on is an option unless I wrap myself in kevlar.

Get kitty nail trimmers and trim them back a bit. My daughter holds our cat as I trim. We have a scratching post, but her thumbs don't hit the post. We figure that while we are there, we just trim them all.

I actually trim my cats nails myself. I use just a regular nail clipper - though they do have special pet ones you can order. I have been doing it since they were young, so they are somewhat used to it. But they still get squirmy. My cats never hiss or scratch, so I don't need to wrap them in a towel when I do this. However, depending on your cat's disposition, you might want to do that and only have the paw sticking out that you are working on. Also, it is important that you only trim the sharp tips. Don't cut too far down or the nails will bleed. I think the trimmers from the pet store have some type of thing that will block you from cutting too far down. I only trim their front claws. I have never needed to trim the back ones. Again, they don't love it, so expect some squirming. Just get a firm grip on the paw you are working on. If you are too nervous to do it yourself, see if your vet is open. I know mine is open with drop off service for the pet. So, perhaps they can do a nail trim there while you wait outside. I have had that done as well. There may also be some YouTube videos on this as well.
