Its a combo of him being good and the phils lineup sucking cock (except for utley).

Now 12-20 vs teams with winning records. As long as they keep beating nats, cubs, and marlins people are hbappy though.

Not hating, but howard needs to catch pop ups over his head, not at eye level. Sealv hands almost dropped another one last night. Its really not hard to catch a baseball

Also, nyc is fucking awesome. I have 3 regrets in life...not playing baseball in college, getting a dui, and not moving here after college. Buddy I'm staying with just broke up with gf of 3.5 years...victorias secret model. Insane

man you are brutal dude. they lose for the first time a week and suddenly the suck and you're making irrational comments again.

okay, lets go through this again. in the phillies 2 world series years they were about .500 vs teams with a winning record. remember i posted the actual numbers about a month back?

12-20 is just not correct. not sure how you came to that number. they are currently 12-14 against teams above .500 right now. i know, horrendous right? no, not really. here's the records vs winning teams of some of the best teams in baseball right now:

    indians 19-15
    phillies 12-14
    rangers 19-17
    yankees 19-20
    red sox 21-17
    braves 16-13
    brewers 14-18
    cards 10-14
    giants 16-11
    reds 17-21

of these ten teams, 5 have winning records vs teams with winning records. 5 have losing records vs teams with winning records. all of them are within a few games of .500 vs teams with winning records.

this team is good and getting better. try to enjoy the ride.

You'd hope so!!!! Are we perfect? Far from it yet were a strong bunch with alot of character. I met and chatted with Jayson Stark for about 20 mins yesterday. He said he expects us to sign Hamels to a similar deal that Verlander got. He also said that after all is said and done Madson will get a deal around 3yrs 24-26 million. I personally think he'll get way more then that, but with Boras who knows. But like he said he hasn't done it for a full year yet. Go Phills keep winning and extending that lead!!!

Obviously a good win last night for you guys. Best record or not, I do think it's pretty clear who the best team in baseball is, and it's not the phillies. Boston hasn't gotten anything out of Crawford and are still unreal. Fuck them though.

Boston's good but only Lester scares me. Are pitching will prevail over there's imo.

While this offense is certainly frustrating to watch at times, we have to give them some credit for coming up huge last night. Beating the other Cy Young winner with your 7th starter going on the road is a big win.

Heart goes a long way in sports, and being in tough spots and prevailing in the past means a ton. This team isn't the 2008 hitting machine but there heart and desire will lead them. Not to mention having 3 of the best 6 pitchers in baseball in your rotation.

great point. it's why i so dislike when people only put metrics in stock about players. fact is some players are winners and some are not. guys like rollins and victorino do not always look great or have the best stats but they come up big in big spots often. phils turned up their intensity a notch last night and beat one of the best in baseball. its what winners do. best record in baseball and by far the biggest lead in a division. damn fun to watch this team, especially when they are hitting. i am thoroughly enjoying this team. go get today cole and pray for no more back issues.

First two pitchers are a toss up at this point. The homo Beckett seems to be on a mission this year. Bostons offense is 9 trillion times better even with zero production from Crawford so far. Moot point though, so far to go.
