Did you say "hitting" coach or "hitting it" coach? Pat's would be better at the later of the two.

Ryan Howard was in Bmore yesterday getting his foot fixed should I have gone in and smashed it up so that his 1.6 WAR won't hurt your team anymore? This is borderline trolling in this thread, but I couldn't help it.

    Ready...FIGHT.

i can't say that part of me isn't wishing for a poor start to the offense when ryan is not in the lineup. i think the longer he is out the more appreciation some folks will have of ryan. lance nix ang ty wiggington every day will do that to ya'.

two words: Matt Gamel. I do find it funny that the Crew swiped Josh Hamilton's confidant (i think hitting coach) just a year before he becomes a Free Agent. Wouldn't it be pretty ironic if Josh Hamilton played 1B (yes I know he's a CF but would probably be able to last longer at 1st) FOR the Brewers while trying to battle alcoholism?

Looks like the playoff change is happening this year - http://www.the700level.com/baseball-phi ... eedID=8510

And I guess that might help Davey Johnson feel better about apparently guaranteeing a playoff spot(HA) - http://www.crossingbroad.com/2012/02/na ... l#comments

If you call a one game playoff an extra playoff team. I like it for the simple fact it creates more excitement for the division races and teams can't do what the Yankees did two years ago.

    i know.

i just have a feeling that in another 10 years, baseball playoffs will look more like the nba/nhl playoffs than what i remember growing up. you know me clifford, i'd go back to 2 divisions per league and only the lcs prior to the world series if i had my way. ;)

I love the idea of the extra wild card team. And I really don't see it becoming like the NBA or NHL. I love the fact that this puts so much more emphasis on winning your division and having the best record during the season.

yeah, i hope that's not the case. I do wish the first round was 7 games though, not a fan of 5 games series. Ahh, yes, I do. Chew, greenies, stirrups, 3 pound bats and spikes up.

I also think you can't say you made the playoffs until you win that play in game. I hope it's known more as game 163 than the playoffs.

i would love to get rid of about 6 teams. the level of play would be so much better. same can be said of all pro sports. expansion sucks.

I knew they were being too optimistic about his recovery. He shouldn't have been taking balls, or doing light running, it's too soon, that kind of injury takes way longer to heal than what they're predicting.
