I really wanted the cherished 2 numbers knocked off the magic number thing last night. Still 5.5 up with 11/12 to go means we shouldn't need your help, but it won't be turned away.

if we help you guys then you have to help us by kicking ass and beating out arizona so we can play them in the 1st round instead of you guys.

so you agree that ryan has been dominate as pinch hitter yet somehow i am in the wrong for posting the same comment. very logical juggler.

and i like temple with the points today.

it's an anomally. it's a quirky thing that you're somehow using to justify his greatness. i love howard. but his success at pinch hitting is just funny to me.

man you guys take everything so literally. i wasn't trying to justify his greatness at all. to me that doesn't need to be justified. it was 2 big hits 2 nights in a row and a gutsy play on a bad wheel legging out a double last night. excuse me if i thought that should be mentioned in what should be a pro-phillies thread. sorry if the yankees in our phillies thread didn't like me saying it. if it was chase half you guys would be having a circle jerk

she also called you a douche.

  • Jeags, there's this genius feature on here where you can block people who's posts you don't want to see. It's amazing. Never thought I'd use it, but the three I have on the list are totally worth it.

Yeah, I know, not usually my style as I am a sucker for confrontation, but some people are genuinely not worth it. And that's putting it lighter than what I would really like to say.

And, Cliff, if you get this, apparently you are not allowed to start drinking at 8 am either.

yep because individual playoff MVP awards are so important and tell us so much

including the 09 NLCS, he's stuck out in 34 of his last 71 playoff ABs...48%. THta's pretty awful, even for him. He will get the occasional big hit, but the big picture isn't pretty.

Hopefully he can help them this year come playoff time. He has killed them the last two playoff series that they were eliminated in. The dipshit manager needs to give him some time off leading up to the playoffs so he can rest his foot and be 100% come playoff time.

I'd love to see the dumb ass move utley up to the 2 hole. He's having a terrible year...like howard, he's just not the same hitter he used to be.

    rollins
    utley
    pence
    howard
    vic
    crust/mayberry platoon
    ruiz
polanco (who has suddenly morphed into pedro feliz with less power)

    won't happen, but that's what I'd do.
  • The JugglerThe Juggler Posts: 48,539
pjhawks is one end of the spectrum. the other end just came back from vacation.

he won that "individual playoff MVP award" because he was clutch and was their most important player of that series. amazing how you can overlook that.

and in the giants series, as was laid out to you last time this was discussed, howard (while clearly not at his best) was the only one consistently hitting the ball and getting on base:

    Shane Victorino: .208/.296/.250
    Placido Polanco: .250/.360/.350
    Chase Utley: .182/.333/.227
    Ryan Howard: .318/.400/.500
    Jayson Werth: .222/.375/.611
    Jimmy Rollins: .261/.320/.304
    Raul Ibanez: .211/.250/.263
    Carlos Ruiz: .167/.318.333

so again--it's funny that he's been such a good pinch hitter throughout his career. but dude's always been clutch (with the exception of the last at bat against the giants and the 09 ws ;) )
