Marlins look like they have pretty much quit already. little early to be packing it in. no way they should be this bad. thought they were playing over their head in april/may but hard to fathom how bad they've been in the past 5-6 weeks.

Gotta give the Phils a lot of credit for holding off the Braves in the past few weeks. Braves have been awesome over the past two weeks and can barely pick up any ground. weekend series should be fun but got to love not having to face Hudson or Jurrjens.

Brien Sanchez was so shot in the 9th inning last night. I felt bad for him. He even gave up a homer to Ibanez. :o Of course, he is making much more money than I am, so he can deal with it.

The look on Hanley's face when McKeon played the IF in in the 9th was priceless. Who would've thought this thing wouldn't work out?

agree about sanches. you know you suck when martinez and ibanez are hammering you.

Nice to see them put up all those runs vs awful pitchers. I fully expect them to come back to reality tonight. 5 hits, 1 run.

Also, this weather fucking blows. I can't wait for fall

Kyle Kendrick vs. Anibal Sanchez. Looks like the 5th straight 2 out of 3. Things could be worse.

Shane's hurt. I don't want him anywhere near an all-star game.

He's not gonna play if he's hurt but he can still be voted in and credited as an all-star. He's only made one all-star team despite being our most consistent player over the last 4 or 5 years.

    um, utley.

I dont know why people care about the all star game (in any sport)

Cameron signed with the marlins. juan rivera is still out there. he'd be cheap and he'd be an upgrade in LF.

I think Victorino leads the Phillies in WAR ;) but yeah, if he's hurt he should be taking a break and get healthy for the 2nd half. Lots of ground to cover out there between the terrible corner OF's. (even though it was his thumb and that should have no bearing on his ability to cover ground, so I'm not sure what my point was)

i loved how trader jack stood up and just kind of stared out at his team from the top step during the 9th. like "fuck you. that's right, we're playing the infield in. i don't give a shit if we're down 10 runs." they have played a little better the last couple weeks though.

i think he's going on the dl and won't come off till 7/19? or some point after the all star game. he's not gonna play. be nice to get the nod though.

So my dad has a surprise birthday party on Saturday night, and I have to occupy him for 6 hours beforehand. Think I'm taking him to Flying Fish, Yards, and/or Phila Brewing Co. Gotta go to lunch too. Maybe For Pete's Sake? Any other suggestions?

Johnny, sounds like you're staying in the Philly area? I mean, how many more places can you go to? That sounds like a solid plan right there.

Petes Sake, you don't need me to tell you though. Philadelphia Brewing and Yards are both fairly convenient to it too.

lineup is so bad. ibanez's OBP is under .300  . combine that with his defense and he might be a worse regular than pedro feliz was in his last couple of years here. they need to force him into retirement. like tonight
