Thank you for asking. Longlegs was good looking, great directed piece of try-hard junk.

Started watching RED DRAGON yesterday. There was such hype for Hannibal back then, but Red Dragon I remember sort of just crept up and suddenly had a poster at the local theatre,. Out of nowhere it felt.

Anyway. Maybe they should have reworked the novel, so it uses the same plot but takes place after Silence of the Lambs instead. With everyone being 10 years older but suppose to be 20 years younger...

Just finished THE DRAGON OF THE RED with Anthony Hopkins, and a Harvey Keital and Edward Norton not making one line of dialogue land authentic.

Manhunter is obviously a more stylish, hotter and better acted film. Edward Norton just doesn’t make the character (especially the dialouge) work like William Petersen. Might have to do with a better written script.

At the same time. Fun seeing Anthony Hopkins again. Even though it feels more like having a well-liked character return to a Marvel movie than seeing a strong drama continuing. Also, they should have tweaked the story to take place after SOTL and not before.

Surprised by how similiar some scenes are.

    My grades

I’m due a rewatch of Manhunter. As an Atlanta native, it’s wild to me that they actually filmed in Atlanta in the 80s. Nobody did (now everyone does).

I love the young William Peterson and of Michael Mann’s direction.

It’s been too long, but I can’t remember which of the movies was actually more faithful to the book.

I always thought I'd seen this, but I think I got it confused with the previous iteration with Dean Cane, haha.
Pretty good, but it lacks the good humoured charm I expect from Superman. Also, it's weirding me out that they made Superman Christian.

  • agreed. Christopher Reeve's character was unemotional/logical but just in his naivete. This one felt robotic. And an alien worshipping a human god? totally weird.

Not a bad movie, some good and clever parts. A little flat in others. Better than avg 6/10.

Was so tired from doing GA at both MSG shows, that I admittedly slept through the first 15-20 min. But enjoyed the rest of it. Not as good as original, but still fun. Will go see it again for full experience. Can’t wait for Halloween.. favorite holiday 👻
