Anyone else incredibly stoked for Dawn of the Planet of the Apes? Loved Rise, one of my all time fave movies.

Transformers: Age of Extinction....and it was awesome!

I gotta say, commercials look kinda cool. But the last couple of Transformer movies were just sooooo bad.

Was the action just awesome, or overall an awesome movie?
The action was awesome! I liked the first one, but I agree 2 and 3 not the best...and as a whole I feel like it was better than the 2nd and 3rd....and honestly, I enjoyed the fact that it had new characters... I was a little sick of Shia LeBouf.

:-S i don't plan on seeing it. I saw the second one and it sucked. third one was a little better and it sucked. i did like the first one though. This one is getting even worse revied than the second and third one though.

    That's like, so funny!

Personally I find critic reviews to be interesting at times, but generally I like to see a movie myself, cause I've liked some movies that many have disliked, So it's all relative I guess.

I'll probably wait an dl this new Transformers when it's available, I'm done giving Michael bay ('the rapist of my childhood memories') money...No more!

Well, having said that....I'm still gonna see Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles in the theaters, regardless of how stupid the turtles look.

I hear that they are planning one more after this one, then it ties in with the originals.

Anything to make me forget about Marky Mark and the Simian Bunch. Holy shit that version was awful.
    Stoked to see this one!

Watched The Wolverine again this weekend on HBO. I didnt care for it that much the first time and this time channel surfed when it got to be too much and found that as a casual view (mixed in with Sportscenter, local news, etc) it actually was more enjoyable. (Surely not what the filmmakers were going for.)

I finally managed to watch Grand Hotel Budapest on the way to Europe. Loved it :)

Then I also watched Dallas Buyers Club, which I also thought was great. Both leading actors do a great job.
On the way back, I watched Nebraska, a black and white movie about a family in rural America. I love this kind of movie, it reminded me of the Gilbert Grape movie a lot. Small town rural America, stories of normal folks, presented in a very nice, calm way.
Then I went on to watch Ten Years a slave. Was not too bad either, but it somehow didn't leave me too excited. I started SoundCity, but interrupted and chose Anchorman 2 instead.
I love long flights because I can pick up on all the movies I have missed out on :)

If you view the Marky Mark apes again, watch it in mute and make your own dialogue. It works better that way.

I caught wolverine on HBO too, I did see it in the theatres, and at the time thought it was about average or just below average, but did have a few cool scenes, now watching it again on tv/HBO, all I could think about was how they need a new wolverine and some better writing for such an amazing comic book character...Wolverine!

Out of the Furnace --- loved it

the new Captain America -- it was okay. whenever i watch these marvel movies and there is this huge worldwide issue happening, i'm wondering why they just don't call in all the avengers for help? can anyone answer that? like in this latest one, why not just bring iron man in to help? i don't get it.

I really enjoyed the new captain America. But then again I'm easily to please. I just want to be entertained without too many glaring holes or missteps in plot.

We has a Star Wars marathon which is always awesome. Then because it's 4th of July we watched Top Gun and even though it's midnight out neighbors are still out in full force so now we are on to Transformers. Megan Fox is beautiful.

We are going to have to go tubing or hiking all day tomorrow to balance out all the TV we watched today.

"Broken Circle Breakdown". It's depressing but REALLY good. Full disclosure though, it's mostly subtitled if that's not your thing.

I saw 3 movies yesterday in the theatre.

    image grade=A (my second viewing)

image grade=C (they made too many jokes about it being a sequel, it was a musing the first few times, but got old quick)

image grade=D (way too long! Michael Bay continues to ruin my childhood...)
