Documentary - Off The Grid: The Mesa (reading a thread that mentioned Christopher McCandless led to conversation about Dick Proenekke which led me to youtube and 3 hours of video on him, then a documentary 'The Hermit' and finally the documentary I first mentioned; after which i forcibly climbed out of the rabbit hole.)

Feelings about the documentary are extremely complicated - but it was interesting.

i've seen a few episodes a long time ago, never really got into it. One of the local indie theaters near me was playing it and a whole bunch of my friends were there so....

    The Place Beyond The Pines

Just watched this one last night. It was very episodic, like three movies in one. Reminded me of Russell Banks in both form and content.

I dug the moto bandit story and the conflicted cop story, but the troubled teens story rang a little hollow to me.

A good movie overall, though. And Mike Patton did the music for it.

Cloud Atlas ... it's apparant that the Wachoskis can produce amazing filmmaking but I have no fucking idea what that story was about. They need to focus on cool sci fi and blowing shit up.

I did but turned it off and put on the Bluray because they edited out too much of the movie. Never watch on ABC Family.

I gotta say, commercials look kinda cool. But the last couple of Transformer movies were just sooooo bad.

Was the action just awesome, or overall an awesome movie?

The action was awesome! I liked the first one, but I agree 2 and 3 not the best...and as a whole I feel like it was better than the 2nd and 3rd....and honestly, I enjoyed the fact that it had new characters... I was a little sick of Shia LeBouf.
