You get someone involved with him, the league is already watchin'. He's not going to fight back, which will get you an instigator, and since the league's' already looking at you...
Then the next time you play him his stick is just going to be swinging a little more...

    That's true

I don't even want a fight, I want a legal hit to drop him

He will never fight you just have to catch him with a nice hard check

He's the only player for another team in the NHL who's Jersey I would wear

I stay loyal to my team but I would wear his Jersey

When is he a free agent ? lol

it looks like he is still in his entry level contract to 08-09, which is when he becomes restricted.

Caps better lock him before the end of that season

1-0 Habs (go boys go) 3 minutes left or so in the first.
Flyers just had a good minute and a half of even strength pressure..
  • RygarRygar Posts: 8,689
Flyers just did a good job killing a Habs' powerplay...I think. Was one of the more laughable PP's I've seen in a while.
  • RygarRygar Posts: 8,689
4-0 Habs, Refs just gave O'Byrne (MTL) a penalty for lookin' good I guess.
  • RygarRygar Posts: 8,689
4-1, another Hab penalty....2 minutes for breathing this time I think.

Sorry Phantom Pain...didn't expect the Habs to put an effort in, and they proved me wrong. 4-1 Final, some shoddy reffing at times, blah blah blah, I'm glad we won.

Terrible game in the defensive zone... guess they went out partying before the game to celebrate Richards' new contract.

Great move by the Flyers wrapping Richards up for 12 years. The contract will be a steal for them in the future. Richards will be their captain in a couple of years.

    Flyers can't put back-back games together !

    Frustrating

Where was the effort they had against Pittsburgh ?

Maybe tonight we beat the Canes !

  • Joffrey FUCKIN Lupul !! Thank You Edmonton !

The dude is on fire !

2 Hat Tricks in one week and he scored in the shootout

I hate shootouts, you battle all game and OT to lose with one-on-one breakaways

    Not fair to either team

Is Joffrey Canadian for Jeffrey in the US ? Just curious

They'll be boos and cheers... they realize what he was to that team last year but they still resent him for leaving.

Hopefully we'll be going for two in a row by then.

And I sure hope Simon gets more than a 25 game suspension.

Flyers trade forward Eager to Blackhawks for defenceman Vandermeer

    THE CANADIAN PRESS
    December 19, 2007
CHICAGO - The Chicago Blackhawks added some muscle Tuesday, acquiring bruising forward Ben Eager from the Philadelphia Flyers for defenceman Jim Vandermeer.

Eager, 23, had no points, a minus-8 rating and 62 penalty minutes for the Flyers this season. The six-foot-four, 225-pounder led the NHL with 233 penalty minutes last season, despite playing just 63 games.

"We wanted a high energy player for our fourth line and Ben is that kind of player," Blackhawks general manager Dale Tallon said in a statement. "He is just 23 years old, he can skate and he is a very gritty player."

Vandermeer, 27, had two goals, seven assists and 44 penalty minutes in 26 games with Chicago. He was originally signed as a free agent by Philadelphia in 2000, and spent parts of two seasons with the Flyers before being dealt to the Blackhawks in 2004.

Chicago will save money in the deal. Eager has two years and US$1.2 million remaining on his contract, while Vandermeer will earn $1.225 million this season. He's eligible to become an unrestricted free agent next summer.

Adds a steady and somewhat quick defenseman in place of a tough guy which we have plenty of. Also it frees up some cap money next year since Vandermeer's contract expires after the season.

yeah, they are definitly surprising alot of people this year, especially on the road.

they really took off when they picked up Bryzgalov, he has given them # 1 goaltending, which they haven't had since the Bullin Wall was there

yeah a surprising road trip for them. Their goaltending has been stellar and they play a nice up pace game.

Again the Flyers are having problems with coverage in their own zone. It just drives me crazy.

yeah, it sure looks like the steal of the year, especially because they got him off waivers, but how far can it last. I wonder what his most GP are while in Anaheim.

like another poster said, they do play a nice up-tempo style of game, and they have a good hard-nosed Canadian as a captain.

plus, they have Jovonovski on D, who is still a very effective defenceman, even though it seems he has gone into obscurity since leaving Vancouver

guess all those pundits who thought Gretzky was on the hot seat and would be fired this year, going into the season, were wrong
