Hey Michel(le) , there's no crying in hockey! The Penguins were 8-0 vs. the Flyers last year.

I think it's going to be a close game

The Canadians beat them earlier this year

They called up the other Kostitsyn brother, maybe he'll ignite a fire under the first line...(haha).

The Rivalry is heating up !

“[Sami Kapanen] got elbowed in the head. [Mike] Richards got elbowed in the head by [Colby] Armstrong. The puck was long gone and [Georges] Laraque breaks his stick over I think it was [Lasse] Kukkonen. [Sidney] Crosby runs into Marty [Biron] and so does Laraque. When teams are going to just take liberties on you, if you don’t try to score, are you [telling them] to just keep taking liberties? That’s the way I look at it.
Wait, Colby Armstrong elbowed someone in the head?
    No, not Colby Armstrong! Gasp!

Hmm, he doesn't play for Philly...

umberger should have had the 3rd star. biron should have been called for a dive penalty, that was pathetic, he was barely touched. crosby doesn't fight because he doesn't have to. philly has played much dirtier even longer, you guys have no room to talk. the organization from the top down is nothing but thugs. i'm surprised briere decided to sign there, i thought he was classier than that. mark my words, sid will light you guys up next game. you guys get a dose of your own medicine and throw a fit. they should rename the team the philadelphia cryers.

Why would you even want to fight Crosby? It makes you look like a bloody tool.
I'm no Sid fan, in the least, but c'mon....
That's like Chara forcing a fight on Kostitsyn....or Latendresse(pure class, nice elbow zeddy!)...or Lecavalier!

true but the pens were taking liberties in the 3rd period.

as for fighting Crysby, if you are going to use your stick against players then you should be held accountable for it. I'm not saying throw your tough guy out there to fight Crysby but maybe someone like Richards or Umberger or Upshall.

No one should be sent out to fight Crosby.
He shouldn't be getting a pass for cheap shots either.

no disagreement there... some of the incidents were unfortunate and others were just plain boneheaded and uncalled for.

rygar- how else do you hold Crysby accountable???

    Tuesday night?
Send somebody out to get him and you're going to end up with a lawsuit.
Not to mention you get Richards on Crosby and you'll just end up with Roberts knocking Richards out.

What do you think would happen if someone went out and decked him?
Judging by your posts you clearly think he'd stand there and give it back...

And feel free to substitute 'lawsuit' for 'fines and suspension', or 'league intervention'.

    To say the least.
You get someone involved with him, the league is already watchin'. He's not going to fight back, which will get you an instigator, and since the league's' already looking at you...
Then the next time you play him his stick is just going to be swinging a little more...

not saying you go out and deck him... you do what Richards did the previous meeting and go after him again and again (legally) and basically call him out. And I'm sure just like last time, he would skate away. And to me, that's alot more detrimental to him that kicking his ass.

Good answer, and I'll agree with you. He gets shaken/worked up pretty easy.

    Exactly

He's a big talker then runs and hides

Ovechkin is a beast, I love watching him.

When I first watched him play for Russia in the juniors, I got a negative impression of him. Too much of a hot-dog, too much of a wuss. In the gold medal game v. Canada, he got hit like 4-5 times, once by Bergeron from the Bruins, Crosby put a nice check on him, and Richards I think did as well, and maybe Phaneuff. Fuck that WJ team was stacked. Anyways, he left the game towards the end of the 1st, didn't come back, cried after the game was over. So basically, I wasn't impressed during his 1st year in the NHL

But holy fuck, what a player. He won me over with his enthusiasm to play and to hit anything, and you can see that enthusiasm too in his interviews.
