Who said it was commendable ?

I thought there was a huge bias against the Flyers everywhere?
Edit - if you think the Flyers are the team that everything gets blown out of proportion in Canada, well you are clearly misguided.
Im not misguided I read many sports websites and message boards
I think there is a bias with fans because a lot of Flyers fans travel and show up on the road games
They usually get a lot of support on the roadMy drinking team has a hockey problem

There is little to no attention paid to the Flyers in Canada, unless they do something like sign Briere or sport 4 bad judgement to downright intent to injure incidents in a 20 game span or so.0 -
I wish this team played this way every night !
Can't figure them out, they don't show up against Wash or Bos but they beat Ott and Car twice !!

Good Move
Flyers’ Coburn gets $2.6 million extension
By Tim Panaccio
Inquirer Staff Writer
RALEIGH, N.C. - Flyers defenseman Braydon Coburn, who has shown some razzle-dazzle with his ability to move the puck, has been given a two-year contract extension worth $2.6 million.
The contract is expected to be finalized today, according to general manager Paul Holmgren.
"He's a big guy and probably our best skater," Holmgren said. "It would be a good race between him and Jeff [Carter]. Braydon spends a great deal of time studying the game. We're excited to have him under contract."
Holmgren said the Flyers want him long-term but they are not certain where his true value is because of his point totals which could rise dramatically in future years. It's likely they will revisit his contract next season if they can better make that determination.
Coburn has just eight points (all assists) but averages almost 21 minutes playing time a night. He will be paid $1.2 million for next season and $1.4 million for '09-'10. He was on the last year of a two-year deal worth $1.41 million. His salary cap hit to the Flyers this season was a very reasonable $746,100.
Cobrun, 22, came to the Flyers from Atlanta in February in a trade for Alexei Zhitnik. Despite being 6-foot-5, 200-pounds, Coburn has the puck moving skill of player far smaller.
He is surprisingly fast – he won the team's distance run in camp - and frequently begins rushes with a one-touch pass out of the zone, often to the opposition's blue line.
Holmgren said the next contract he wants to tackle is re-signing forward Mike Richards before free agency this summer. My drinking team has a hockey problem

If only they could put together the same consistent effort on home ice like they do on the road. This is your notice that there is a problem with your signature. Please remove it.

I know, I don't get it
They started out playing well at home
Now the intensity is only on the roadMy drinking team has a hockey problem

If it is any consolation, it isn't a problem unique to the Flyers.0 -

It seems to be that they simplify the game and, as usual, there is less pressure on the road. Think they need to take that approach at home and try not to worry about satisfying the needs of the crowd.
I have to say though that I always loved seeing the Flyers at home and waiting for, and anticipating, Lindros burying someone within the first 8 minutes of a game to get the crowd totally involved. This is your notice that there is a problem with your signature. Please remove it.

Now that's what I call a hockey game. Great to see some chippyness back in the game and guys settling issues without using their sticks.
Hopefully one of many more wins at home now.
And gotta love the captain setting the tone early. This is your notice that there is a problem with your signature. Please remove it.

nice to see smith get his ass beat, as he deserved it from the last game. the flyers won the game, the pens won the fights (2-1, the armstrong scuffle wasn't a fight). whichever moron from the flyers yelling at the coach after the game was not a good move, i think it was the guy who roberts beat up. crosby will probably have a huge night next time they play, you could tell by the look on his face. i can't remember who it was, but seriously philly, are you all trying to get suspended this year? another guy left his feet to hit someone again. even though we lost it was fun to watch."Fuck the talkin' let's start rockin" - Eddie Vedder 9-5-00 Pittsburgh
