Streit is probably going to be seeing a pay increase this year.

I don't see how he couldn't... a number of teams need defensemen and even a 2nd tier FA could see a nice pay raise given the FA situation, especially when Campbell looks like he'll get a huge payday, even though it may not be fully warrented.

5/23/2011- An utter embarrassment... ticketing failures too many to list.

Streit is also able to play forward, and was a noteworthy force on the PP this year (regular season, at least).

4:00 PM: As most of you have seen by now, the Jeff Carter signing is official per the Flyers (no dollar figure/years given as of yet) and TSN (reporting three years, $15 million).

Paul Holmgren is back in Philadelphia for what figures to be a busy weekend before the July 1 start of free agency. Some quick updates on the Flyers' impending free agents:

    * The Flyers and Jeff Carter remain close to completing an agreement on a three-year contract. The worth of the deal is generally reported at $15 million ($5 million cap hit per season), but there are also reports of a somewhat lower figure.

    * Riley Cote's three-year deal is all but wrapped up. The contract worth will be between $1.7 million ($565,000 cap hit) per season and $2.4 million ($800,000 on the cap), depending on the source.

*The Camden Courier Post reports that Randy Jones is close to a three-year deal worth around $4 million ($1.33 million per season on the cap).

    * Patrick Thoresen will be a restricted free agent after receiving a qualifying offer from the team. The only impeding free agents who did not receive qualifiers are defenseman Lars Jonsson (signed to play in Sweden) minor league goaltenders Martin Houle, Scott Munroe, and Rejean Beauchemin.
