I don't know how they didn't see enough evidence on the video review! after he hit the puck his stick clearly came down and hit the crossbar...and that tripping call on Richards was a joke, he planted his shoulder right into his chest!
Did anyone see that blonde behind the Flyers bench?
Shoulder?? It was a knee on knee, and didn't even look like an accident.
Only Flyers fans are going to see that review on the high stick as evidence the stick was above the crossbar....
All the reviews show the stick as below or close enough to be unable to reverse the call.

Look at the replay again... their knees never touched. It was clearly his shoulder. It was a clean play. Richards is smart enough to not take a penalty there.
And what's with Philly getting the bad rap for their fans. First Carter gets pelted with beer after game 7 in Washington, and then Richards gets pelted in the penalty box. Yet Philly fans are painted as neanderthals. We didn't riot in the streets after we won our 1st round series.
We got hosed yesterday, but it shouldn't have come down to the refs anyhow.

I've seen the replay tons of times (just again too). Richards' left leg takes Kovalev's left leg clean out. I see body contact but the legs clearly connect. Iffy part is the intention. I'd buy accidental. Still looks like a knee on knee.
There are assholes in every crowd, Montreal is no exception.
The riot shit is questionable too (i.e. it wasn't Habs fans, it was a gang with a stupid name )

Either way, its a tough call to make, especially when the refs had the whistles buried the whole period. I understand that over the course of a series, the calls balance out.
Its shaping up to be a good series. Just disappointed that we let that one slip away.

There were a few iffy or missed calls for both sides, but nothing new there.
Overall I found both teams to be quite tired/uninterested looking for large periods of time.

Getting sick of "fans" doing stupid things.
Yeah, it would be nice to see a consistent game called for once. The refs did let them play for the most part. 4 power plays and a penalty shot across the board. In the first round, the flyers gave up 4 power plays a period.
I expected the Flyers to come out flat this being their 3rd game in 4 days at playoff intensity. Coming into the series, I figured they would lose game 1, but as the game went along, I hoped they could pull it out.

As sad this is to say i missed the whole game yesterday as my boss comes up to me right when i am leaving work and ask me why i am going home as we have a some bullshit meeting that i have with some city councellor. i was so mad as i told him that the hockey game was on and no-one told me abotu the meeting. he said sorry but he just heard about it too. the worst of it all is that the meeting was crap the CC was a bore an dthere was no point in me going. the damm place we went to didn't even have the game on TV as it was showing the Toronto Blue Jays in an all important 15 game in the season.
Today i was listenning to the FAN here in Toronto and some asshole names Pierre Maquire was talking abotu how teh flyers are way over their heads and didn't even deserve to be in the 2nd round. the funny thing is that awhile ago thi ssame guy was saying how if teh leaf scan play like they hav ethey cound do some damage in the playoffs. for me that this guy knows nothing about hockey.

Well u should be mad at Richards, Knee on Knees are dangerous and should be called all the time, it did piss me off that Kovy went and tied the game on that needless penalty by Richards.

I was expecting Montreal to explode out of the gate a la game 7 vs Boston, but they looked like a flat tire (to me at least).
Good game by Kovalev, and the two goaltenders were decent.
Jim Dowd does looks 60.

Wow.. just wow..... I won't argue the 1st Kovalev goal, although it looked close but nothing seemed conclusive other than the fact that the ref seemed to have no idea that the puck was hit by a stick before it went into the net...
As for the Richards penalty, he can't put himself in that situation, but that being said, he clearly didn't knee Kovalev. His feet never moved, his leg never moved, he stood his ground and threw a shoulder into Kovalev's hip.
That's all... time to get ready for game 2.... entertaining series so far, hopefully (as NYPJ fears) the refs don't start deciding games and they let players play......

lol it's physics!!! the puck was hit by the stick gravity then pulled the stick down from it's previous position(above the crossbar) to then hit the crossbar.

at least that's what Issac Newton told me
From NHL.com:
"Biron stopped Plekanec’s slapper from the right wing, but the puck popped into the air and Kovalev batted it into the net, making contact just after the puck went below the crossbar. After a lengthy video review, the goal was allowed and the game was even at 2-2."
Fuckn Bull Shit Cock Sucking Asshole Refs. Marty Played His Ass Off Again And To Lose To Bullshit Refs Is Absurd. Fuckyou Refs.
I love how some flyers fans always have an excuse.... it's either the ref's fault, or some league conspiracy that keeps them down.
The Richards call was borderline, but at full speed, the first time I saw it, it looked like a pretty clear knee/trip. With the benefit of slow motion replay, sure it can be argued, but you gotta realize that the ref needs to make that call at full speed.
The flyers downfall is not being able to clear the puck out of the zone... they struggled with that at times against washington, and it carried over to game one. Plus the fact that Biron didn't have the best game either.

That's what I have loved about this team and Stevens... nothing seems to phase them. Yeah things may not go their way but they trust each other, work to correct mistakes, and never seem to get down on themselves.... show alot of character for a young team and a young coach.

Anyone catch Stevens after the game saying it was cowardly what Kostop..(wont even try to spell it) did ??? Referring to the sucker punch on Kimo
LET'S GO FLYERS !!!
Didn't catch that but did like Hartnell sticking up for the sucker punch thrown at Biron... guess we're starting to get under their skin
How about Price saying that Umberger interfered with him on the 4th goal.... last time I checked the puck was fair game and Umby was well within his rights to take a swipe at it.
Also anyone notice that there were 3 pentalies called in the last 5 minutes or 3 different games that could have or did effect the outcome?? (Pens/Rangers, Flyers/Hab, and Dallas/SJ)... guess NYPJ was right about officiating deciding games late.

What's that their 3rd game they blew a 2 goal lead in the playoffs ??
You can't have that consistently and win the series
I definitely thought the Kovalev goal shouldn't have counted but in reality it was probably going in anyway even if he didn't hit with a high stick
The call on Richie was borderline but the game shouldn't have come down to that....you have to put teams away
Have to hope for a split (Dejavu all over again)
