I was watching TSN this morning and they had 1 guy pick Mtl to win and one to pick the Flyers. None of them mentioned how Philadelphia was going to be destroyed, all of them mentioned that Mtl had an 8-0 record against Boston and look what happened.

i was watching the score here in tronto and not one word about the flyers. i usually don't watch TSn (execpt when teh flyers are on) as they always seem to talk about Candian teams and actually more about the leafs. i am not complianing abotu talking abotu teams from canada as it is Canada but i can't take more leaf talk. I wish you all the luck to beat us. i just want a team to kill Pitts and Crosby. i won't forget/forgive that they throw the last game in teh season.

I don't watch the score often, but not a bad show.
I also don't see much favorable talk towards that Habs outside of RDS, in which case I have no idea wtf they're talking about anyway...
hehe, we have a common enemy afterall!

See the bad behavior in MTL is suspected of the same 'gang' doing it a month ago?

I'm pissed that the monkey didn't pick the Flyers... again :)

Should be a great series... just alittle surprised that the fires and rioted weren't a bigger story, since if it happened in Philly it would be all over the local, national, and international news, even if fans had nothing to do with it.

haha, yeah gotta love the monkey!
    I'm expecting a decent series.

As far as the riots and shit goes, it's been done before (it was all over the news here, too) but this time they have a specific non-Habs fan base to blame. Is it a legit excuse? Maybe, maybe not. As a REAL Habs fan disgusted by the idiocy, I will buy that excuse.

Looks like Flyers not getting much respect in Montreal.....

Just as well, it's nice being the underdog and taken lightly....

Wow....kind of like "Ho-hum no biggie it's the Flyers"

Why do they insist on bringing up regular season stats when they mean absolutely nothing !

Exactly... Nitty started 3 of the 4 games against the Habs this year.. and they haven't played since Feb.... but hey if they want to marginalize or underestimate this team, go ahead.

    LOLSTERS @ you guys!
You realize this is the MEDIA talking about the matchup?
If you think the team is going to underestimate someone after having to fight for a first round survival against a team they went 8-0 against you're off your rockers.

The media also went "OMG Habs are going to win the cup!" as soon as the last regular season game ended...

I know its the media but show alittle respect.... especially since their team was almost ousted in the 1st round by an "inferior" team. But I'm pretty sure the Habs will be ready and won't underestimate the Flyers, still funny really how nonchalantely the media is handling the Flyers.

Between Montreal and Toronto, you'd think the fate of the world hangs in the balance on a single game of hockey, or who's going to end up GM'ing the team.
Fucking hockey playoffs, and the top story in the NHL is that Brian Burke is still under contract (how was this a fucking secret a month ago??) for another year, so the Leafs can't get him this year.

There's a lot better and more impartial articles out there, so don't let a few bad ones spoil your attitude. They can talk stats all they want but the fact remains the Flyers and Habs both put in a hard (most of the time) 7 game series in the first round. Regular season means jack.

Oh - I'm a huge Habs fan, so the "Habs are going to crush the Flyers" articles are great to me. I still see them for what they are, but at least I smile ;)

As a flyer fan, i hav eto say that i know that they are underdogs, but when you look at it, both teams are hot right now and both teams are both 4-3 in the playoffs. i think if Philly plays their game they have a chance and if montreal plays their game they also can win. however, let gives the flyers some respect. i still don't understand why more people are not giving John Stevens more credit for what he has done this season and this playoffs.

    Ha !

“We just have to play them the same way we played the skill guys in Washington,” Carter said. “It’s a lot similar. The Russians are real puck possession guys, dipsy-doodle, skate all around and make fancy plays. You just have to take away their time and space. And I think we’ll be all right.”

    Dipsy-doodle...LoL

Can't let them Dipsy-Doodle too much tonight Boys !

    LET'S GO FLYERS !

Great News for Next year for the Flyers :

Claude Giroux now has 11 goals 23 assists in 13 games. He is the QJMHL leading playoff scorer. The final of tonights game against Halifax was 6-1. Gatineau now leads the series 3-0. He will probably be playing with the Flyers next year after some seasoning in the AHL with the Phantoms. He was also named the 3 rd star with 3 assists tonight. The next game is tomorrow at Gatineau.

Kovy had a rough the first 6 games. Game 7 he was more or less back to his 'magnetic stick' self.

    He is the King Dipsy-Doodler

Didn't Keenan keep him on the ice for like a 9 minute shift because he wouldn't shoot the puck when he was with the Rangers ?

Most of the flyers have been good after the iffy beginning, but it's possible. He generally has his head up though, and throw an elbow at him and you can expect the same if he doesn't fall down ;)

Pretty lazy looking teams until the play that resulted in Dowd's goal.

After that lazy looking first you guys have played a real good game. Couple o' lucky bounces, but a goal is a goal.

I don't know how they didn't see enough evidence on the video review! after he hit the puck his stick clearly came down and hit the crossbar...and that tripping call on Richards was a joke, he planted his shoulder right into his chest!

Did anyone see that blonde behind the Flyers bench? :)

  • And you people have the nerve to call someone else "Crysby"...

But the good news is, the ridiculous philosophy that a two-goal lead is the "worst lead in hockey" is single-handedly being brought back by you guys, so you have that to hang your hat on. :D
