i was on a self-imposed ban for a time, but i think maybe i'll just avoid the time suck that is the moving train
it was an interesting weekend. looks like saban is doing what tressel did for osu when he got there... a long streak of disappointing seasons turned around into a title contender in one season.
this could be a fun year for the big ten. it's not as top heavy as the last few seasons and it will be fun to watch them beat the hell out of each other. it looks pretty clear that the championship will be sec champ v. big 12 champ. there are some elite teams there. usc kinda screwed themselves... they could end up playing osu again in the rose bowl. that would be interesting. more likely it will be penn state though, they looked good.
as a buckeye fan, it was good to have beanie back. there is no quantifying what he brings to their offense. and pryor looks pretty good so far.
I only hate alabama bcause of Saban, otherwise I coul dcare less about them. Most of my hate is reserved for Notre Dame and Ohio State.
You need to stop listening to the media regarding Saban. He hates them and is hard on most of them. But he and his wife do a ton for the community...something that of course is rarely reported...he's given $1.5 mil to the school alone in a year and a half and his charity for kids does a lot of good work. His wife is his boss. She wanted out of Miami.

I don't think he is a bad guy overall, I have the same problem with Petrino at Arkansas. Saban deystroyed the Dolphins and was not even a man about it when he ran away from there. Petrino was even worse. And I think if another school came in next year and offered Saban more money, he would bolt. I am a big Michigan fan, but I am not happy about the RichRod hire either. Losing to Noter Dame did not help my opinion of him.
...got a mind full of questions and a teacher in my soul...

....and RichRod backed out of a deal with 'Bama before the Saban hire.

i was at that game with my sister who went to sc and my sister in law who went to oregon and has brainwashed her son to go to eugene for college  :(
I think Penn State is gonna run the table and mess up everything though
i betcha ohio state beat penn st.....as long as sc plays the way they have the last 2 weeks for the rest of the year, they'll make it to #2 or #1 by the rest of the season...

I bet he's having a great time. Especially right about this time of year
2 weeks ago I went to the Florida State/Miami game.... that shit was crazy. Miami down 24-3 at the half, comes back but still loses for 41-39. 2nd time in a row Miami has lost to FSU at home. There are few things I hate more than the sound of the tomahawk chop.... it makes me want to cut someones arm off. I can't wait until Florida goes to Tallahassee and tears them a new one.
As for this past weekend, it was nice to see Florida play they way they should considering their depth of talent. The UF/UGA should be quite interesting this year.... I hope that Florida can extract some revenge for last years loss.

Last year was pretty ugly as well but at least Carr won a bowl game before he retired.
Well, college basketball is around the corner and usually the 'Cuse are great during their first month before they start their Big East schedule.
...and even if the Orange sucked like they did last year, I always have the professional Celtics to watch.

penn state playing in the national championship confirmed.
or do you really think alabama can beat florida in the sec?
My beloved Gators are the best team in the country right now! I know they lost to Ole Miss, but I'd say at this point they would easily handle any top Big 12 team or Penn State. I'm talking at least two-TD wins over any of them
I do expect my alma mater the Gamecocks of South Carolina to give them all they can handle here in a couple weeks though...

Great day of games, yesterday. They didn't all go the way I had hoped but a good day, nonetheless.
My Buckeyes looked good as a Big 10 also-ran.

Good to see another Buckeye fan! They really get an unfair shake. Oklahoma has choked in their conference championship how many times? They got into BCS games without even making it to their conference championship too! And they've dropped 4 straight bowl games or something. But God knows no one would dare say a word against them like they do Ohio State. Granted, the last 2 title games were a problem. I admit they didn't belong last year, but that wasn't their fault. And they choked big time against Florida. So I see why people resent them, but it still sucks.
How come Georgia and LSU got destroyed by Florida by 30 points each and it just shows that Florida is awesome, but OSU loses by the same margin without their star player and with a questionable qb situation on the road to USC and it means they're a joke?
That said, I haven't seen a team look as dominant as Florida does right now since Ohio State steamrolled everyone they saw in 2006.
