1.5 Games up...3 to go...anyone else nervous after the last 2 games?

yes I am nervous - it seems to me like the last 2 games they have choked a bit by making bad and stupid plays. Misplaying balls, base running mistakes just bad baseball. the positives are the Marlins hate the Mets and will do everything they can to spoil it for them. the Mets losing (choking) last night was HUGE - such a big difference between 1/2 and 1 1/2 at this point. one negative could be the weather this weekend - there could be double-headers all over the place if these teams can't play thursday and friday. thankfully the Phils don't play today.

I hope Howard is taking this off day and practicing his throws to 2nd base.... I believe he is 1 for 4 (better than his batting average??? :D) making that throw and the one last night helped keep a big inning going.

The Phills are trying so desperately to give this away to the Mets in the last few days and of course the masters of choking can't take advantage..good luck to you guys in the playoffs..maybe it's finally the year you guys win a game in the first round ;)..

I'll my hold rebuttal on this one for a lil' bit.

BTW - Get a guy home from 3rd with no outs for once.

If they make it to the playoffs they God damn better win a playoff game. This city will go ballistic if they don't.

This team is going to send me to an early grave.
Don't come closer or I'll have to go

Between these guys and the Birds, and not to mention all the squanders of the Flyers and Sixers as well...I don't know how much longer I can take all this. For all those not from Philly - you have no idea what this feels like.

Don't make me flip again..how the fuck could they not get that run in with no outs and a 3-0 count on Wright??? You have to try awfully hard to not get that run in..One fly ball..a slow roller somewhere..squeeze!!! Unbelievable..any player on the Phillies club would have gotten that runner in..anyone would have gotten that fucking runner in..The good news is that it can't get any worse..it just can't...

Try being a die hard Met fan..if it weren't for the bullpen, we'd have about a 20 game lead at this point ;)..

    This is crazy

If it weren't for the Mets not being able to score with no outs and a man on 3rd...we'd be in trouble

Why do they do this shit to us ????

Compared to us, you guys have it easy..

Let's see, I've been a die hard Jet and Met fan since 1988....haven't seen anything good, nothing..shit...twenty years of fucking nothing but PAIN..One championship from one of these teams in my lifetime is all I ask for!! Fuck..

Edit: Would also like to add that living in the shadows of annoying arrogant Yankee fans and under the success of the Giants is no fucking cake walk either ;)..

Jason Stark had in his column the other that day that if baseball were an eight inning game instead of nine, the Mets would have an 8 game lead right now.

Unbelievable..and the Mets still somehow have a shot in hell..as pathetic as they are..

I say they get in because the Cubs play well in Milwaukee since they'd rather face the Mets in the first round than the Dodgers, especially since if Santana has to pitch Sunday, he wouldn't be able to pitch again until a Game Three.

hey, you can't share in the pain if your favorite team is from boston! :p

Yes he can Nic, because I'm from Massachusetts and love the Sox too, but I live and die with my Phillies

When we moved here there was no such thing as cable television so in order to watch my favorite sport (baseball) I had to watch the local team and well, the rest is history. I LOVE THESE GUYS.

But my baseball beginnings started at good old Fenway when I was 7 years old.
