actually, i am more pissed we didnt win more games so we already could have an invite locked up, like the shittier teams above us do in this conference.....cause then i would care less for the big east tournament

I hear you. I'm off to grab some pizza and watch the end of the game. Hopefully their hot shooting keeps up. At least according to sportsline.com's play by play they've made their last 6 threes after starting out 1 for 9.

yeah but since carnessecca left, SJU had no reason to expect success

SU has a coach with a great record, strong recruiting supportive fans, but only go deep when they have an NBA first rounder on the team

very frustrating they dont play better as a team

that's true. but i think st. john's had a reason to expect better from the zendon hamilton and felipe lopez era even if mahoney wasn't much of a coach. i want to see it work now because they're doing things the right way after that jarvis nonsense but i have my doubts about the coaching. that being said i'm willing to give him another year as having eight freshman is always tough no matter what kind of coach you are.

Huge day today! Back at work, the tv is set up, nothing's going to get done today!

Nova will be looking for some revenge today...
UConn will have a long day if they don't show up...and I'll punch the lights out of the office tv again if they lose...
Will Pitt and Marquette have enough in the tank after last night's tough wins?

    I love March!!

yea Marquette got a scare last night

Some analysis are saying the committee might consider Nova's heartbreaking losses to NC State and Georgetown. i don't know about that one. They def need a W today to solidify a spot, because i have a feeling there will be more teams stealing automatic bids

Totally agree. A Nova win gets them in, and I think GTown moves to a #3 or #4 seed. They didn't really play anyone outside the conference except Memphis, and got smoked.

Amazing the number of small conference teams getting bids. Tough to pick the brackets next week!

I think the 8 teams playing today are in.

I don't think there have been an extraordinary amount of small conference teams getting in with the exception of the WCC. Especially when you consider the MVC will probably get only one team in and they've been a multiple bid league the last few years. I just don't see Illinois State getting in despite having a good rpi in the 30's, they were 0-5 against the top 50 this year. If Missouri State with an rpi of 21 didn't get in the 2006 dance, I don't see how Ilinois State gets in either.

The only surprise is that the Sunbelt may get 2. Conference USA may only get 1 unless Memphis loses in the conference tourney and the Mountain West should get 2 or 3 as should the Atlantic 10. All of the rest of the at large bids should go to the BCS schools as usual.

Yeah I may have been generalizing there...it just seemed last night that in the flurry of scores on the espn ticker thing, that there seemed to be a lot of small schools getting in. I was drinking too, so that would only add to my expansive bracket knowledge! ;) I couldn't believe Sacred Heart was on national tv last night! First time I ever rooted for them! I must have jinxed them!

I love championship week and seeing all the small schools play for titles and get their chance to play in the dance. The 4 weeks from championship week through March Madness are the best month in sports with the exception of the Red Sox making a run in October. ;)

Had to think Nova would make a run. I didn't think they would shoot 25% for the game like they did in the 1st half and didn't the Hoyas could shoot 57% for the game.

    Should be a great finish.

Time to hit my local pizza parlor to watch the end. :)

shitttttt!!!!!! nothing you can do when a team is strokin the rock like that, well maybe you can defend better. the Hoyas were killin that zone, a switch to man might have slowed it down a little bit.

You think Nova did enough to get a bid?
