thanks for starting the thread, steve. :)

FINALLY is right! if they're able to somehow pull of the win against georgetown tonight all hopes of a tourney bid may not be lost! *crosses fingers*

yes - those dreaded acc fans...which now include boston college...they can stick it. at least jay isn't a bc fan.

nyc is one month away!!! we don't get anything done in our office here when march rolls around...lucky enough to have a tv in our building, and it gets pulled out once month a year! :)

They started strong, but I think that was more a result of their schedule. Still young, and don't recruit well in the front court. And a lack of Philly kids on the squad..hahha. looks like a NIT team this year.

i'd like to think they can win the next two (at cincinnati and home against villanova). after that it's rough with marquette, georgetown, notre dame, seton hall and west virginia.

That might have been one of the worst calls I have ever seen determine a game.

the walking call against nova when they almost upset unc in the ncaa tourney a few years back was pretty bad, too. apparantly the refs didn't want david to beat goliath.

i'm still peeved about last night.

a foul 80 feet from the hoop with 0.1 seconds left on what was barely even a bump. argh. still hurts.

That's the thing. The first thing refs are taught is to not directly influence a game and let the players determine the outcome. Obviously that wasn't the case here. I hope the Big East makes a comment about the game. I know that Jay Wright is taking the high road, but I would have absolutely lost it there if I was coaching and a call like that went against me.

I remeber that one that was bs! was that Randy Foye?

That call was terrible, but the refs were consistent they were calling them touch fouls all game. Every possession they were blowing their f'n whistle.

it was allan ray. should've been a foul on melvin scott from north carolina but instead ray got called on the walk and unc won 67-66. :(

that was a bad call...same number of steps as if ray was taking an uncontested layup. and billy packer blows acc coaches. and refs.

I follow the 'Cuse for college basketball. They're having another rough year, just got beat by UConn by 2 points after beating Villanova the previous game.

they still a young team though.

I'm a Philly guy so I root for Nova, but I'll definitely be following the Cuse the next few years since they signed two guys from my high school who are freshman now: Rick Jackson and Scoop Jardine.

rest of their 7 reminding games will be against conference teams, so hopefully they can make a turn around.

I swear, it's like the curse of Melo or the new nickname or something, after he went pro, The Orange got bounced out of the first round in two straight years and they didn't even make last year. What's odd is they were able to win two Big East championships, including McNamara's senior season.

dude you just kicked me in the jimmy w/out even knowing it. i had tickets to the wednesday game of the big east tournament on the wednesday that mcnamara hit the 3 to beat cincy. i left my tix in my car at the train station that morning. got down to nyc, had to take another train back, then back to nyc. by the time i got to the Garden, the SU dance team came running out screaming in excitement. i asked one of them what happened, and they were just screaming. i wanted to puke right then and there. i've never gotten over it.
