Yeah, The Orange won't make it unless
they make a miracle Big East tourny championship win.

Almost came back against Louisville with a minute left
but the Cards went 9 straight points. :(

very ragged performance tonight for syracuse. it looked like at times that boeheim was going throw a fit if they jacked up one more three-pointer.

uconn squeaked by depaul last night...they've hit a plateau i'm afraid. they won't last long in nyc next month with that kind of game. they need to lose so calhoun can lose his collective shit and spark the team again.

nic's wildcats need a big win tonight to break away from that 'miss the tourny' pack. and i think usf could upset cincy.
I love to turn you on

Damn, I picked the wrong game to go tonight. I'm hitting the Knicks and 76ers. Should have realized Big East bball is where its at. ;)

Hopefully Nova pulls out a win tonight. Somebody from the Big Five has to make the dance to justify me taking off for the first two days of March Madness. ;)

looks like my plan worked. ;)

the wildcats looked great last night. it's too bad they didn't gel like this earlier in the season. anderson looked great and stokes... with no seniors on the team i'm excited about the future!

    bring on uconn!!!

    them's fightin' words!!!

And hey if you're in the stands again flashing the bench, I'm sending a camera down with Calhoun! :D

If Nova plays like they did last night - they will win. You heard it here first. UConn needs this streak to end to bring them back to earth before March.

i'll be happy with giving you credit on that one saturday. :D

it was exciting last night. after the "nah nah nah nah, goodbye" chants, they started chanting "we want uconn." that was my first time in the pavillion since i graduated - the other games i've seen were at wachovia - and i forgot how much i love the energy in that building.

yeah i was impressed with anderson & stokes as well....maybe the next Foye and Ray combo? Fisher needs to penetrate more, collapse the D then kick it out to them guys. His quick as hell, and his handle is awesome. he'll learn. For Jay Wright to play that 3&4 guard offense, he needs consistent shooters. i think he may have found his rotation. Hopefully they recruit a decent bigman in the offseason.

I root for Villanova in this one. I could never root for Jim Calhoun as a St. John's alum who attended the school in the heyday of the St. John's-UConn rivalry 1998-2000.

I'm not going to get too cocky as there's still a lot of ball to be played, but Louisville is looking very, very good.

Nice job by Villanova of knocking off UCONN. Seeing UCONN lose will take the pain out of the possible carnage from the Duke-St. John's contest.

Just back from the Wachovia Center and that was a great game. Nova looked like they were going to run away with it early, but held on for a win.

The crowd was great. Much better and twice as full as the Knicks 76ers game I went to on Wednesday.

I'm sure nfanel is smiling somewhere after today's game. ;)

well i wish i hadn't called that one, but a good win for nova today. first half runs and second half hanging on earned them a victory. congrats nic, solat, and the rest of you loveable philly screwballs. ;) i was at least happy with a comeback and uconn made it interesting. that said, i almost threw my tv out the fucking window.

gtown looked pretty impressive today, and marquette ganushed (remember this term!) rutgers today. ouch!

Yep tonight is huge for Nova. I think the Big East gets 8 bids.

G-Town, Louisville, U Conn, Marquette, and Notre Dame are locks.

Pitt and West Virgina should be in.

So its probably going to come down to Nova and Syracuse for the final bid barring a major upset in the Big East tourney. And since they both play Marquette down the stretch it makes this game tonight even bigger.

i didn't see all of it, but of what i did catch - that was a different team out there. they can still make some noise. marquette couldn't miss.

Marquette is very streaky, and right now the seem to be on the right path. D James played out of his mind. Usually he shoots about 1 for 9 from the field, and get's some layups late. They have great guard play and with the addition of freshman Trevor Mbakwe, (he was hurt but decided to not redshirt and first played in the Pitt game) they just might have a necessary piece of the puzzle, a big man. They will have their hands full on Sat. with G'Town.

tough loss. At least we still have Louisville on the schedule. Fisher played well last night, this kid is gonna be the key to Nova's success in the future....TALENTED. Down the strecth i would've loved to see some screens ran for stokes beyond the arch.

The remainder of Louisville's schedule....if we can win out, then I foresee a deep run in the NCAA tourney:

    2/28 Notre Dame (ESPN)
    3/2 Villanova (CBS)
    3/8 Georgetown (CBS)

What's scary is that they will be even better next year.

Preston Knowles is insane on defense...and merely a freshman. T-Will returning for his senior season. This Samuels kid coming in is supposed to be amazing (I saw his high school game a few weeks ago on ESPN, and he was incredible). And that 7 footer is going to be back and healthy....I hear he may be a work in progress...but when you're 7 feet, and have TWill and Earl Clark on either side of you...you gotta be solid at best. I see a minimum sweet 16 this season....final four next season.

Also, I'd personally like to lose one of these last three games....either ND or Gtown...and sweep the Big East Tourney. They need a little fire going into the tourney.
