Otherwise I'd get you out for sushi with me and the wife. Shame, it'd be fun.

i took a friend out for sushi this weekend. it took me about a year to convince him to go with me, but he loved it. of course, his rolls were cooked, but he still liked it. he was grossed out by my seared ahi tuna (tuna tataki), but he likes his steaks medium rare....i told him, it's the same thing. i also told him that it's not fishy and it doesn't taste like cooked tuna. i couldn't get him to try it, but maybe next time. he really liked what he ate and wants to go back! yay for sushi!!

Sorry, not for me. Visited friends in LA and visited there favourite Sushi restaurant. Couldn't understand why we were paying such good money for raw fish.

Luckily we went to some excellent restaurants for the rest of the visit.

Perhaps I'm just an uncultured heathen!
  • i love sushi. arigato in santa barbara is great and so is pink godzilla in santa cruz.
  • I've got a hospital appointment in a couple of weeks, but me and the other half are going for sushi in London for lunch that day, which makes up for it.

I can't wait. Sushi rocks my world.

    more wasabi!

have a few sake bombs while you're at it :D
  • now you've gone and started me off...

i love fish, cooked, raw, any old how..

    so, sushi.

well the first time i went to a proper sushi place was when i visited friends in graz, austria. it was the sex. all the food was on conveyor belts so it was a bit like smash and grab, which suits my lack of social skills perfectly.

i wasnt sure what i ate exactly, but i was in heaven, i asked what my favourite was, it was salmon, rice and seaweed with the wasabi stuff, plus soy sauce. its a secret and shared pleasure tho, depends who is around..not everyone can be arsed to go up city for fish..

i read this thread at work and you bastards made me buy prawns (king) and crabsticks at lunch, as well as mackeral. i made stir fry with the prawns and crabsticks, veg and egg noodles and a few flavour enhancers (paprika, garlic, onions, chilli, coriander, ginger and vineager (i ran out of soy sauce)

    mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
and my fusspot dad said it was one of the best stir frys he ever had. :

so,, thanks and long live the sushi thread!!

  • The other half and I are going out to Leicester Square for sushi today!!!

Woohoo, I think we're going to have Bento boxes full of sushi and sashimi (bass, salmon and tuna), and sides of extra sashimia and tempura (haven't decided on vegetable or prawns yet).

    Mmmmm...
