There is, at least in London: 'Yo Sushi'. I think it's American though.

There's one I like to go to called RuSan's - I think it's really good, but a lot of people don't like the atmosphere....you have to be in the mood for it.

So I had sushi for the first time the other night and I love it. I’m going to stock up on it for the weekend and its all I’m gonna eat :D

And eddies_gurl I used to talk like you before I tried it:

‘im gonna have to disagree w/ ya there. i do not eat cooked seafood b/c i don't like it. it does not taste good to me what-so-ever. it totally disgusts me & i have absolutely NO desire to eat sushi at all! UGH! i could not get past the thought of eating raw fish first of all’

Sushi, is NOT actually ‘raw fish’ by definition. It’s stuffed rice baskets usually wrapped in seaweed. I bought a ‘sushi snack box’ the other night with a little selection. On the box it said ‘no raw fish’ and the selection were carrot, tuna and red pepper. It was absolutely yum. There are vegetarian sushi also. I really recommend you try it cos I did with the expectation of feeling sick afterwards but I think I’m hooked already… I’m planning on moving on to the fish over the weekend :D . Obviously nobody else has to but please, go out and try some vegetarian sushi :)

We'll have to work hard to get her off the veggie option. She'll get there, we all do... eventually. It's only a matter of time.

I'm alright with buffet sushi franchises. Those are the best,IMO. I had squid at one for the first time not too long ago. Surprisingly good.

Yeah it will, thanks! I'll be there in spirit; my wife and I are going out for coffee so I might get a sushi snack pack, not quite the same thing but you've got to appreciate what you can get around here.

Didn't get the snack pack. Grrrrr. Oh well.

The more pressing question is 'Did Heineken Helen get her fish-included snack pack?' Did she like it? Now that's one we're all bursting to have answered. ;)

    I love Sushi!!!

I try to eat it once a week, but it can get pricey.

I live spicey tuna hand rolls. But I also love California rolls, salmon, shrimp. I'll be visiting Venice Beach in 10 days and a jammer is going to introduce me to saki and other kinds of sushi. :D

:o Well I got my fishy snack pack... and I think it may have turned me off sushi already :o

I'm not a big fish eater anyway but I DID open it up thinking I was gonna love it and the first one I tried was avocado and something else (yes it WAS fish, lol) and it nearly made me sick :( . I couldn't try any others cos I needed to get the fish taste out of my mouth :o

Think I might stick to the veggie stuff for now.

 I'm so sorry for misleading you, I feel so responsible. Anything we can do to console you? Anything at all :(

The sushi life is not for just anyone. You have to be strong of mind, of stomach, and of heart.

You're probably going to leave the thread, aren't you. I want to say don't, but, if you don't like sushi.... how can you continue? If there was another way.... *sob*

Please say there is another way...

Perhaps someone will say 'include veggie sushi' in the thread, but then you, dear Helen, have to battle forever with those nay sayers who say that 'veggie sushi' is an oxymoron. If you're willing to put up with that and continue to fly the flag for veggie sushi, we - I'm sure all of us would agree - would happily invite you back into the fold.

In closing, let us agree on this: avocado is gooood.

Lol, well thanks for the consoling! I can put up with the naysayers cos sushi is NOT fish! :D and I do like the whole rice/seaweed thing so I might just stick with the veggie stuff. I like the tuna rolls though - does that count? ;)

YES! tuna rolls count! i'm so sorry you had a bad experience. i wonder what you tried because i don't like the fishy fish. most sushi that i eat is not fishy (or chewy)....i wish i could've been there with you to see what you had. because there are a few fish that i won't even touch. not all sushi is good, just certain kinds for me. anyway, i'm babbling. but yes, keep on with the veggie stuff and the tuna....and you can still hang around with us and appreciate your own taste in sushi. :D

Thank you! :) I dunno what I tried, it started with a t I think and was a long word. It was in some kinda pink sauce but trust me, it really was rotten :o . It wasn't chewy though

I never liked the shit, my gf loves it though. So you can see the delima when we eat out.
