    i love lucy.
  • Lol, well thanks for the consoling! I can put up with the naysayers cos sushi is NOT fish! :D and I do like the whole rice/seaweed thing so I might just stick with the veggie stuff. I like the tuna rolls though - does that count? ;)

Tuna rolls is a decent compromise because, after all, who doesn't like tuna? ;)

  • Thank you! :) I dunno what I tried, it started with a t I think and was a long word. It was in some kinda pink sauce but trust me, it really was rotten :o . It wasn't chewy though

I don't know, I only just read this, and this post gives me hope, because it doesn't sound like you had good stuff. Hmmm, suspicious. You are is right. Fish should not be 'fishy'. Hang on in there. We may just get you there yet ;)

the more i think about it and after reading your second post i agree with him....i think you had some bad sushi, we need to start you off with some good stuff - like, tuna, crab, shrimp, salmon - those are pretty basic and really good. i think you should work yourself up to it and try it again. :D

Lol you two! Hmm... ok I'll settle for tuna right now. Seafood like shrimp, etc (and I'm presuming crab falls into this) make me gag though - something to do with the texture. No matter how much I tell myself I'm gonna like it, I can't even swallow the stuff. I guess I could try salmon :o

I dunno, maybe I'm too fussy for fish sushi - lmao... try saying that 10 times fast :D

OK so I'm going out for sushi again, just sitting here waiting on my ride :D I can't wait! I hope harmless little f*** is able to get a sushi fix this weekend. And we need an update from Heineken Helen. Did you try anything new? And do you like it?

OH, and another thing.....the last time I had sushi there was this red caviar on top and it was sooo good and sweet....mmmm. Added more wonderful flavor to my sushi. Has anyone ever tried caviar?

  • I flipping love caviar, I really do. That said.....

I had a sushi snack pack yesterday!! Woo hoo, it was nice. Except, the last piece had what tasted like tandoori sauce in the middle? Which wasn't all that right. Indian sushi, I don't know, this world's becoming so eclectic.

For dinner I had quiche, another favourite food of mine. Oooh, I feel another thread coming on.

i've never had quiche ! i've always wanted to try it, but being from the southern part of the U.S. - we don't really eat a variety of foods here, but I do. i'm going to seek out a place that has quiche or i'll make it myself. i'll get back to you about this ;)

Nice, I look forward to it. Do you like ham? I recommend a nice quiche lorraine. It IS an acquired taste, especially cold, but as I said on my thread, I like it cold - straight from the fridge. Where i live, you can get small individual ones, and they're luverly.

Don't eat it with sushi though.

Ooohh, I LOVE quiche :) . Haven't had it in a long time though - again M&S (I love M&S food, lol) I think the last one was spinach and tomato or something and it was yum :) . I recommend trying it hot first though.

Nope, I haven't tried any more sushi since, might give it a while :o

ok, so i had sushi last night at my favorite sushi restaurant......and because it was a holiday, they weren't serving anything off the menu. they had the buffet set up for us. i liked it because i got to try new things, but i was really disappointed because it wasn't what i really wanted. :( so, needless to say, i'm going to have to go back later in the week so i can get my (real) sushi fix.

keep trying new things. different fish have different textures and flavors. i really like the soft textures, like - ahi tuna, yellow tail, salmon, and sea bass. try some of those. good luck! ;)

I know nothing of sushi, but oddly enough, we just got one in town and I have to shoot a commercial there on Wednesday.

This Asparagus Beef Roll sounds pretty good.

We shoot on location there tomorrow...I'm hoping that we get to try some items off the menu.

If not, we'll go back for lunch later this week.

I just joined the Sushi Bandwagon. I tried it 10 years ago and spit it out. Now I like it. I was the same way with Tequila.

Wasn't wasabi, It was something reddish inside the roll.
