the whole complex thing is stupid.

its a winners and losers complex, not a NY and Boston thing. Its like saying chicago has a st. louis complex, or cleveland has a pittsburgh complex, or denver has an Oakland complex. a loser wants to be a winner, a loser hates a winner, and a winner wins all arguments because, quite simply, they are winning.

Yankee fans are bitter because their pitching sucks, the sox are probably going to run away with this thing, and the Yankees are not going to make the playoffs due to lack of pitching and heart.

bang, 2004, remember it. table is now turned. deal yankee fan. deal
I would agree except that Boston and New York have a history, and that Boston was the epicenter of art, finance, and culture in the beginning. Bostonians have never gotten over being the little brother to NY.

I, a Red Sox fan, openly acknowledge that NY is the greatest city on the face of the earth. I would bet most do.

    That said.....

Boston happens to have the greatest baseball team on the face of the earth right now, and thats pretty cool.
All that's sacred, comes from youth....dedications, naive and true.

I wouldn't call it the greatest, but I wouldn't quibble with those who would. I just happen to hate NY.

I know that modern Bostonians arer realists as to the city's respective places in the world, but that doesn't mean that we all like NY'ers.

Anyways, back on track. Nice job Lester. You're an inspiration to many, and there are a lot of kids at the Dana Farber right now who just got more hope seeing you pitch last night.

  • Dude, this is old. A-Rod watches his homers too, dont fool yourself. Sheffield did the same shit. Melky doing his circle dance or whatever the fuck it is when he hits his...etc...

They all do it. Its the game today. its not showmanship, it celebration. They are playing baseball for a living, not doing heart transplants. Its all silly to begin with. A bunch of men hitting and chasing after a ball. DOnt get me wrong, I love the game, but if you are going to get upset over celebration, remember what they are doing...playing.....a.......game.

Why do people care how an athlete celebrates? Seriously? If he took a dump on home plate after hitting the homer, that would be a bit over the top and deserving of criticism. He watches the ball. I would watch the fucking thing too if I could hit it 500 ft. Shit man, I watch a tennis all fly out of the local little league field when I hit it out with a whiffle ball bat. Its fun. Its just a game.

For the record, the Royals have a better record than the Yankees. If anyone deserves to be called a minor league team, look no farther than the cellar in the AL East.

you're half right. ARod does watch his HR's, though not nearly as bad as Manny, but when he does, I yell at my TV, yelling at him to run. I'm not a hypocrite like the Sox fans and Varitek. i don't think it's ok when my team does it, but wrong when the other team does it. I think it's wrong when anyone does it. And far be it from me to defend Sheffield, I can't stand the guy. And Melky, that stuff bothers me too. The Yankees have never, ever done that. Maybe it's me, maybe I'm old-school, or just a grumpy old man, but I prefer the Marvin Harrison/Curtis Martin style when they score a touchdown. Hand the ball to the referee, and act like you've there before, and you'll be there again. Like a professional, not some clown, like Manny. Christ, these guys have hit 500, 600 homeruns. Do you need to stand in the box and admire each and every one of them?

Some of the things the Yankees have done you may not like however you still love them right? Well, the same goes for me in the way I love the Red Sox so there. :)

It's all good if the Yanks were in first place this wouldn't be an issue.

    Peace

Another good win for the Sox tonight. Masterson looked very good allowing just 1 run on 3 hits over 6 1/3. Keep on rolling...

We've got Theo. Doesn't look so bad hiring a 28 year old eddie vedder quoting stat geek now does it?

God, I have a man crush on him. Best GM in baseball. What a minor league system he's helped put together.

    I found this funny.

The Yanks are pissed that Papi is going to be "calling his shot" during the Home Run derby at the Allstar Game at Yankee Stadium.

The Sox need to be more consistent on the road, but it doesn't seem top be any one problem, and the bats came alive against a good pitcher last night.
