I just saw this stat on ESPN. With the Rockies switching from a lefty Morales to a righty Cook and the Sox going from a righty Wakefield to a lefty Lester in Game 4, it shifts the odds in the Sox favor a good bit.
Red Sox: 25-23 against lefties, 71-43 against righties. Rockies: 20-24 against lefties, 70-49 righties.

It pales in comparison to his commentary on the pickoff attempt: "If he had been quicker with his throw to first he would have had a better shot at getting him".
Is this series already over? The sox are hot. However, it was smart of the Rockies to save their best pitcher for tonight. All they really need is a split. Yet, I don't see the Boston bats quieting yet. They are playing such smart ball; great decision making at the plate, especially patience. Even if they aren't getting hits, they are working the pitchers and wearing them down.

The morning sports talk show is hosted by Angelo Cataldi who is from Providence but is a life long Yankee fan and hates the Sox and especially hates Schilling. Cataldi helped drive Francona out of Philly. Schilling still rips him from time to time in his blog. One of the co-hosts is Mitch "Wild Thing" Williams who also hates Schilling and said Schilling was the worst teammate he ever had.
Well, they have this contest going with this glass company where they're going to give a new bay window to a caller who lets Mitch Willaims throw a fastball through the current window with a giant picture of Schilling's head pasted to it.
I just thought it was funny and a reflection of how sad the sports scene is now in Philly.

No matter what happens tonight, I've always been a big of Schilling. We have the same birthday and he was one of my favorite athletes to watch growing up.

true story, Carroll's girlfriend is an HR manager and I interviewed with her when I first moved to SFO, he was with the Expos at the time (just before they were moving to Washington) ... when she told me who she was dating I actually knew who he was from my roto baseball geekness ... she responded, "really? you know who he is?" she wasn't all that confident in his playing ability I guess.
