On my way to Fenway solo, because I couldn't find anyone else to take my pair for the night after the ESPN broadcast pickup fucked up the end of my (and my daughter's) weekend. That's right, I couldn't find anyone willing to go to a Red Sox game at Fenway Park to experience the pain magic.

No way, but don't you know everybody is on vacation now. On a serious note if the Sox lose tonight they will have one of their worse records since the 70's at this point of the season. Something like that whatever it is, it's not good. The do have some merging young stars which is nice to see. Perdro you are THE MAN!

No way. Too expensive. I did, however, discover that they have Miller Lite in cans for $7.75, which is the cheapest (and safest) beer you can get.

Blowout! Now they'll lose the next five.

Porcello deserved a better fate tonight.

Thought they would score some runs of Pineda though.

Love Papi's ridiculous gold chain even though he struck out 4 times>LOL!!!(Sorry, but i had to say it>LOL)

    Tough loss, cutz.

Your first sentence says it all.

Oh, and as for Papi's bling, I think he was trying to blind Pineda. I think it backfired, though. Pineda hit his spots just fine, whereas Papi's swing was way off.

Yeah, he looked pretty shaken up. Hopefully, they don't put the kid gloves on with him like they have done with Clay Buchholz.

Don't care what place the Sox may be in: always nice to beat the Yankees
  • The Red Sox still have an outside shot of getting to .500.
Need to finish this road trip with a 6-1 record.
Considering they were 50-64 on August 12th they have had a nice finish.
They started playing better when Hanley got hurt.
Really not sure what they do with him next year since they are a much better team without him.
I hope they just eat the whole 3 years remaining on the contract and move on.

Hanley was a much better player when he was down here with the Marlins. Then it seems he thought he could continue to be a pro on just his talents alone. Seems he forgot to work hard on his game or maybe he wants to go back to playing shortstop.

Next year focus on pitching please.

    Peace

If they win tonight i think they will do it.
They end the year with 3 at Cleveland and they just got eliminated yesterday.
Cleveland may be in "who cares" mode now.
I think it means a lot to all the young kids currently playing for the Sox.

  • The question of the off season will be what happens to Tory Lovullo. Will he be hired away and more importantly if and when Farrell returns, and the Sox tank, will he be let go and replaced by Tory? I never thought Farrell was the answer and I wonder how much of the recent success and play, particularly by the youngsters, is due to the change in managers? I wish Farrell well, want him to be healthy but I don't think he's the answer (see Toronto).
