Last year, Sergio Romo was dropped from the closer's role and handled it with grace before re-signing with the Giants this offseason as a free agent. Last fall, Tim Lincecum, a two-time Cy Young Award winner, was moved to the back of the San Francisco bullpen and didn't utter a peep of discontent because he understood the decision was based on performance and on what gave the Giants the best chance to win.

    The Red Sox must try to get to this place, again, as they seemed to be in 2013.

    Let's keep this train rolling, boys. Bad time for a day off yesterday. Hopefully, they can maintain their momentum.

    I'm basically living at Fenway this week. Was at Sunday's rollercoaster game, will be at tomorrow night's game (provided the predicted p.m. thunderstorms clear out) vs. the Marlins and Friday night's game vs. the Shitheads.

    Wow really starting to show some life. Winning the close games and the division keeps losing.
    Dustin could be back on Friday. Maybe the 2nd half will be interesting.

    Good stuff (mostly) at Fenway last night. We needed the early lead with Porcello on the mound.

    Thanks, Papi! Big fella was seeing (and hitting) the ball well! If he stays in the zone during the Yankees series, we could do some good divisional damage control.

    good bounce back game. Win today and they win another series. Interesting pitching matchup today. Two ex NL's who both have a lot of wins yet neither has been that good.
