I'm totally bummed out right now... WTF!!!
I agree it totally sucks when the Yanks dominate like this can't watch any highlights. However, the playoffs are coming and we shall see when it really counts. Just have to go in playing stong and power pitching baseball. Dice K battled and that's very encouraging indeed.

These words keep running through my head, as they did in 2004:
"If You Believe
You Will Achieve"
Look what happened that year...
that's the Red Sox backing into the Wild Card ... ... got a week to straighten their shit out. Beckett scratched tonight ... ugh.
Well we finally clinched a playoff spot.
Nothing like backing into the post season while riding a 5 game losing streak.
That's been done before numerous time. The two most recent instances that come to mind are the 2006 Tigers and 2006 Cardinals.

I want to know why the Sox didn't try and sign Roy Halladay, unless they did & I just wasn't aware of it... :?
I don't think Halladay has ever been eligible for free agency. As far as I'm aware, he's signed a few contract extensions to stay with the Blue Jays before any of his contracts ran out. After next season will be the first time he will consider signing with another team.

D. Ortiz DH
R. Baldelli RF
G. Kottaras C
A. Gonzalez SS
J. Lowrie 3B

G. Jenkins LF
C. Coste 1B
M. Cervenak 3B
G. Golson CF
L. Marson C
K. Kendrick P started and the immortal Les Walrond got the win in relief
I know they are getting ready for the playoffs but winning a game to snap this absurd losing streak would be nice. 6 games and limping into the postseason is kinda lame. Still what does matter is that they're in the playoffs and are gonna put a whoopin on the Angels. GO SOX

Cy Young pitched for the following teams:
Cleveland Spiders (1890–1898)
St. Louis Perfectos (1899–1900)
Boston Americans / Red Sox (1901–1908)
Cleveland Naps (1909–1911)
Boston Rustlers (1911)
Never heard of any of them, except the Sox!
Wish you were here...
