hey, Dr. J Bully.... maybe you can "examine" his broken arm at the pre-show party... ;);)

    :D

oooooooohhhhhhhhhhhh!! :):D Don't tease me with that possibility. I would definitely be willing to kiss his arm/hand and make it all better.

I am very sad for him but at least it's not a devastating injury. He could probably use the time off ... he's fought quite a bit in the last few months. I am such a dork, but my first thought was ... I wonder what specific bones he broke?

    what specific bones?...priceless! :D that's awesome. :)
  • dan simmler goes for a flying armbar in the first match!...but falls on his back when he misses it. i am enjoying the commentary this week - rampage "the high-risk manouvre!" :D still don't like the picture in picture, though.
  • don't like to see someone get knocked out like that either. that was a scary one. some time ago, a friend of mine got punched and had similar memory loss, but wasn't knocked out completely like that. took him a while to get his wits back about him. hope dan is ok.
  • tim credeur making it look easy with the armbar.
  • quantity over quality for the most part for the first 16 matches. :D there were a couple of good ones in there, but they probably saved the best for last. i don't know how josh was able to survive that triangle! didn't survive the round, though. tough match and a good win for matt brown.

...and there's house destruction again this year! why do they always have to destroy the place!?! :D

    waaaaayyyy too much testosterone.... ;):p

+ copious amounts of liqour + the stench of 16 sweaty men - a few IQ points = thinking it's a good idea to run full speed into walls! ;):D
  • i was just thinking of mikey burnett claiming to have injured his spleen on "fourth and goal" on the fourth season while attempting to smash through the wall...yep, that equation sounds about right, releash. :D

    mac would not approve!
  • ReleasHReleasH Posts: 743
hahaha, I had Mikey in mind when I was thinking of that equation. :)

p.s. Damn comcast ! (again) They decided to come "optimize" the cable connections in my building last night so I had to miss most of the TUF episode last night. :(

security: "is this guy with you guys?"

us: "ummm...never seen him before..." :D:D:D

hahaha, i fully understand. I'll try to control myself... but no guarentees lol

TUF so far has been alright, that KO was insane though. I have never seen anybody that messed up, hope he comes out of it alright.

countdown show on tomorrow night! :) it seems there's no all access this time around, though. i thought they would either do one with georges in montreal again, or go to new york to see matt serra. no dice, i guess.

some consolation in the releashed episode prior to the countdown show...my guide says jeremy stephens vs. cole miller, luke cummo vs. "crazy eyes" crocata, and wanderlei silva vs. chuck liddell. some great fights that i don't think they have aired on spike before.

good old fashioned montreal riot coming up! :D

no idea on the area, leafs. i used to have a couple of friends who lived right in montreal, but they've long since moved. there has to be something nearby, i would think. it's montreal! haha :D

so, the UFC has posted their usual cryptic info about the weigh-ins.

All they have officially told us is that doors open at 1pm (but from what i can tell, that's for Fight Club Members only) and that it's at the Bell Centre.

From what i gather from reading additional information in the forums, there's a Q&A session at 2pm (again, for FC Members only) and that the actual weigh-ins start at 3pm. But they don't tell us when the doors are open to the public???

grrr.. these guys are brutal when it comes to communication...

sorry, releash...my guide says today....DEA followed by the countdown show. it's showing the releashed episode for prior to the new TUF episode on wednesday. has the same matches listed, though. :)

    can i add a "yay!" ? :D
  • ReleasHReleasH Posts: 743
yeah, my guide says the same thing. Can't really complain too much since the releashed episode is just delayed 24 hours.

I'm awfully curious to see who gets kicked out of the TUF house and why. And which guy they bring back. There were a couple of guys that fought well in their initial matches but ended up losing. I wouldn't be surprised if Dana White had 2 guys fight for the open spot. It would preserve the idea that they have to fight their way onto the show.

    ps yay! ;)

Edit: I just caught the preview for tomorrow TUF episode ... it looks like the guy who gets kicked off is white, with skinny not very hairy legs. I had to bring back our body hair assessments! :D

:D haha the hair assessments are back!

i think i read somewhere that it's a staph infection that gets "the white guy with skinny not very hairy legs" ;) his exit from the show. not sure who they'll bring back, but my money's on jeremiah riggs. all three seemed really impressed with his heart and the way he listened to everything rampage told him. he could be very "coachable", but he took his share of lumps during his match so we shall see...it could very well be a match to determine who comes back, though...hmmm...hadn't thought of that. :)

kicked off for a staph infection? Staph can be contagious especially when guys are grappling with each other, but it is relatively easily treated with antibiotics. I find it hard to believe Dana would kick a guy off the show for having an infection, but you never know.

  • don't know that the staph infection thing is true...i do remember reading that somewhere though.

...and since the fight club seems to be scattered :D

Not surprisingly, the pre-fight festivities for the first-ever show for the promotion in Canada, which takes place the following day (Saturday, April 19), will be beamed LIVE across the Internet via streaming video.

In fact, ESPN.com, NBCSports.com, Sympatico MSN, Yahoo!Sports.com and FoxSports.com will all air the weigh-in for UFC 83 LIVE on their Web sites this Friday, according to UFC.com.

    Pick your poison.

For those fortunate enough to be in Montreal this weekend remember that the UFC 83 weigh-in is free to attend and open to the general public. Doors open at 3 p.m. and close at 5 p.m. local time.

It’s a great opportunity to get some fighter autographs, snap some photos and get pumped for the big show. In fact, UFC Fight Club members are able to attend a special Q&A session at 1 p.m. ET and are eligible for priority seating during the weigh-in.

UFC 83 features the welterweight title fight between reigning division champion, Matt Serra, and interim 170-pound titleholder, Georges St. Pierre. In addition, a glut of middleweight match ups are slated for the show, including the showdown between former 185-pound champion, Rich Franklin, and the super tough Travis Lutter.
