Vera really gassed about half way through the second round. Still he should get it on decision.0
-
have to agree with joe on this one. a bit of a disappointing performance from vera. he looked great in the first, but wore down as the fight went on. he really could have won that fight in the first or second. i don't understand why he was only initiating with his kicks and some knees. he was only countering with his hands when he could have been using his reach the whole time to keep andy off and land more of those kicks.
should be an easy vera decision.
oh, and you're doing better than my 48 from last event, releash!0 -

my thoughts exactly. not much to it, but all he needs is an opening.
maybe we get to see a pre-lim?0 -
we should get at least one prelim, there's plenty of time left.
Irvin's eye is a mess. That gash will need a bunch of stiches, they've got gobs of vaseline in it. Once that heals there will be a bunch of scar tissue so he will be prone to bleeding in future fights (a la Forrest Griffin)0 -
sweet. markham vs. farber up next.
i think i may have been typing when they showed irvin's eye. that doesn't sound good. ouch!0 -
Pretty good night of fights, mookie. It was good to be back. Hope leafs had fun in Vegas. I wish we could all be going to Minneapolis. I can't wait for Aug 9 for GSP and Fitch. I don't know who to pick!!0

i know! i wish our ufc crew was going!
not too bad overall tonight...what a turnaround in the markham fight. rory doesn't seem to mind taking a few punches...and then a perfect head kick to end it suddenly!
nice that you're back. i would have been talking to myself in here tonight!0 -
congrats to all manador for winning tonight!
we put upsome good points that should bode well for our average too. prizes would be nice! haha
at least it was close, j bully...i would say you're not quite in the basement, but rather sitting on the staircase on the way to the main floor.:D

just finished watching the affliction ppv, except for the babalu vs. whitehead match. still waiting to watch that.
best performances of the night by vitor belfort, mike pyle, mark hominick and andrei arlovski!!! arlovski threw his hands, leg kicks, a head kick, and even a flying knee at one point! went for a couple of heel hooks, and had a couple of takedowns. rothwell was able to capitalize on a mistake by arlovski and slipped into his guard to do a little damage in the second, but he was outclassed otherwise. andrei got up to end the round with a flurry. best fight of the night for both shows for sure. rothwell was very tough, but it showed that he doesn't belong in the top HW's like they were trying to claim.
it's good to see arlovski fighting his kind of fight again, and he's so much more technical now too. wow!
also, i hope leafs took my advice on the pyle bet...and not the advice on the "upset parlay":D
oh, if anyone wants to see the affliction fights, let me know. ceg, the arlovski fight is in avi / xvid? format. probably won't be any wmv's for this one. :( (fangs on the sad face?)0 -

i think i may go over to smithers' place if i'm feeling up to it. more than likely, though, i'll start reading the spoilers and stay home.
...also, no blackjack...good plan!
...one more also, good luck to NY PJ1 making some $ off your pics.
hehe... ok. no blackjack. we'll have to stick to buffets, umbrella drinks, and betting on fights.~~*~~ ...i surfaced and all of my being was enlightend... ~~*~~0 -
ReleasH wrote:Hey guys!!! I've been away too long. :( I missed you all too! I've been working like a crazy person for the last two weeks ... close to 80 hours each week.
But I was able to get my picks in for the Fight Night ... albeit it with one minute to spare, so who knows how well I will do.
Looking forward to chatting with you all tonight.
J! you're alive!!
