Did anyone find out the details of bad contracts being stuffed down in the AHL? Did the new CBA address that issue?
If so, we may have to deal with that bad Matt Walker contract.
The Rangers would have to eat that awful Wade Redden contract.
And so you see, I have come to doubt All that I once held as true I stand alone without beliefs The only truth I know is you.

next year we get rid of his contract (last year)
i post on the board of a band that doesn't exsist anymore .......i need my head examined.......
As for who to buyout, well the obvious candidate is Brzygalov if he has a bad year. The only other two that stand out are Briere and Mez. Briere is 35 with one year left at 6.5mil and Mez has one year at 4mil left, other than that, no one really makes any sense to buyout instead of trying to trade.
hartnell :?:
i don't think you dump a briere with one year left. and mez has been a solid D man.
speaking of D....or lack there of :fp:
I think Hartnell would be more in the trade category. And I agree that Briere and Mez are longshots to be bought out, but they are probably the only two that would make sense on the current roster. Plus, it will be interesting to see how teams approach certain players in the offseason given that some with huge contracts could possibly be had without having to give up talent. Also, wondering if you can buy out a contract and then re-sign that player....

pretty sure he has a no trade clause. obvoiusly this could be a pressure point to accept a trade.
actually wouldnt that be used by Hartnall to pressure into a buy-out?
That way he has complete control as an UFA and gets 2 salaries?
not sure how it all works to be honest. i was thinking with the amenesty, he gets 70% of the remaining contract value(i think). not sure how it works after that. :?:

Didn't you guys shore up your D with the trade for Luke Schenn
2005 - London
2009 - Toronto
2010 - Buffalo
2011 - Toronto 1&2
2013 - London, Pittsburgh, Buffalo
2014 - Cincinnati, St. Louis, Detroit
2016 - Ft. Lauderdale, Miami, Ottawa, Toronto 1 2018 - Fenway 1&2 2022 - Hamilton, Toronto 2023 - Chicago 1&2 2024 - Las Vegas 1&2
Mind if I join in your debate guys? I think Timmonen would have been a viable option, or Briere.
those guys are options but kind of old and banged up too much. Giroux is the best player and one of the best in the game and a great dude from all indications. Gotta be G.

From what I'm reading, you get 1 amnesty buyout this season and 1 next season. Who else would you buyout?

from what I hear, they can buy out Bryz out in June but not before it. I don't see the flyers doing this cause of what Vancouver is asking for.
