Disagree very much so. I definitely think he'll be back. No way he's dead. If they bring back the Scarecrow who really didn't do a whole much in Begins, they'll bring back two-face who played an important role in TDK.
And what do you mean he played his purpose. If ever a whiff gets out that he is a murdering maniac with a horrible flesh burn, then all the guys he convicted go free. Major plot line that can be partially incorporated into a third movie. They say I'm rappin like BIG, jay, and tupac

I think I do, I was blown away and did not think he would be better than Nicholson. He owned the role and took it to another level. But that was my opinion. I take it you were not as impressed with what he did....got a mind full of questions and a teacher in my soul...0 -

and i agree that the small clip with the scarecrow was useless and probably the biggest problem i had with the film... lets tie up the loose ends from the last movie in one short unnecessary scene  ... i wouldve assumed batman had already apprehended him had i not seen him at all... he was a lil bitch with no way to fight batman after he got the antidote0 -
sgossard3 wrote:thats why batman took the fall at the end... and why they did the press conference commending dent... and why they smashed the bat signal... his "important role in TDK" was to bring hope to gotham and he did that... along with a secret fall from grace... anything more would be unnecessary... i could understand the motivation of gordons fake death, but WHY would they cover up 2 face's? they stood there over his body... what more reason do i need to believe hes actually dead? the only incorporation in the third will be that batman will begin it as an outlaw because of the people dent killed

Yeah, but this is Batman here. There is NO way they would just let the murders be tagged on him. I mean he is the good guy. Besides the fake funeral, what proof do we have that Dent is dead? He could have just been knocked unconcious by the fall...I mean THIS IS a comic book movie, by the way.
And like I said they cover up two face because if word gets out he IS a murderer then all his good he did for the city is over. Like the mayor said, "If they find some dirt on you. You'll have to answer to them. The police, the politicians, and the press."
Don't you think it's a giant cover up? Couldn't a cop who helped remove the body say something about how Dent's face was burned and he had prints on the gun? And what about Maroni? The driver of the car died, but did the car crash kill him? He knows Dent is a murderer.
It seems too easy to just kill him off after much of the movie was setting up his transformation to Two-Face. I very much think he'll be one of the villians in the next movie. They say I'm rappin like BIG, jay, and tupac

I think Two-Face is alive. For one, they showed his coin right next to him after the fall with the right side up, hinting towards him surviving the fall. For another, I think all Gordon did was hide Two-Face somewhere. They didn't want Two-Face to go to jail or take the fall for the kills because they knew it would crush Gotham's hope. They chose, instead, to tell everyone that he died a hero.
Also, the fact that they didn't show a coffin at the ceremony also kind of shows that he's not dead. Two-Face definitely had a big role this movie, and he'll definitely have to play one next movie.0 -

and the fact that batman is taking the fall IS THE POINT... its batmans sacrifice... to the thread that asks if batman is a real superhero... THIS is batmans super power... his sacrifice and self control... if dents not actually dead then this sacrifice is definitely minimalized... itd be much harder to cover up what dent did if they put him in prison... and they certainly cant let him roam free... i have NO DOUBT in my mind that hes dead... the plot wouldnt be as good otherwise
ill ask nolan to confirm if i must... i can see no reason why he would bring 2 face back... nor why it would be necessary to use stock footage of the joker in the next film... hes in jail... just leave it at that
we'll have to wait til the next installment though to find out...

his character development matched the typical tragic literary fall from grace... what would he do in the next film? redeem himself? it would be reduntant for him to continue killing people... unlike the joker he was killing with purpose... and he killed off those responsible for rachels death... you think hes gonna keep going after gordon and his family? or turn his attention to batman now?0 -
Personally, I think Dent should have become Two-face in the final scene of the movie to set up the third with him as the main villain. his transformation from good to evil happened too fast.2000: Camden 1, 2003: Philly, State College, Camden 1, MSG 2, Hershey, 2004: Reading, 2005: Philly, 2006: Camden 1, 2, East Rutherford 1, 2007: Lollapalooza, 2008: Camden 1, Washington D.C., MSG 1, 2, 2009: Philly 1, 2, 3, 4, 2010: Bristol, MSG 2, 2011: PJ20 1, 2, 2012: Made In America, 2013: Brooklyn 2, Philly 2, 2014: Denver, 2015: Global Citizen Festival, 2016: Philly 2, Fenway 1, 2018: Fenway 1, 2, 2021: Sea. he was to the joker what the scarecrow was to raz al ghul... nolan seems to be comfortable with that dual villain format and i think that really functions nicely in his batmans unlike the old ones where mr. freeze and poison ivy would just be working with eachother for seemingly no reason...
i think his characters tranformation certainly couldve been developed a bit more though... sure the jokers persuasive, but one scene in the hospital room with the man responsible for your lovers death and hes convinced to become a killer... then again im sure ultimately he still wanted to kill the joker in the end when in a better position to do so... after getting even with all the others responsible
i really wasnt expecting to get the beginning and end of the whole 2 face story so late into the movie... which is probably why so many feel its incomplete0 -

See, I think that's what you're missing. They can't tell people he died a crook or every mobster he out behind bars will be released.
Redeem himself? No. But if a nosy journalist or cop starts to wonder about the truth behind batman. One interview with some cops, one interview with Gordon's kids...and whether he is dead or alive...that could jeopardize everyhing that he did. The point is, they aren't going to just let Batman take the fall and be a murderer. They say I'm rappin like BIG, jay, and tupac

batmans a dark character... he can take the heat of a few murders... youre looking at it from an outside allknowing perspective, knowing bruce waynes back storying and that batman is actually a hero... but for the people of gotham that have been following this batman story, the media have spun it so much that people dont know what to think of him... its not a far cry to think people would believe if they heard batman killed 5 people...
just watch burton's "batman returns"... the next film will deal with the same issue that happened in that... and happened in the comics... batmans more complex than your usual hero... people dont know what to think of him... how can someone that only operates in the dark of night with a mask on be a good guy? but thats what makes him so cool0 -

yeah maybe if he turned into Two-face earlier it would have worked a bit better. and you're right that maybe two-face as the main villain in the next movie wouldn't work. but at least he'd already be established. and who would make a good villain for the third movie? he seems to lean towards "realistic" villains like Ra's Al Ghul and Joker. I just can't see they likes of Penguin, Posion Ivy, or even Riddler in Nolan's films....but we'll see.2000: Camden 1, 2003: Philly, State College, Camden 1, MSG 2, Hershey, 2004: Reading, 2005: Philly, 2006: Camden 1, 2, East Rutherford 1, 2007: Lollapalooza, 2008: Camden 1, Washington D.C., MSG 1, 2, 2009: Philly 1, 2, 3, 4, 2010: Bristol, MSG 2, 2011: PJ20 1, 2, 2012: Made In America, 2013: Brooklyn 2, Philly 2, 2014: Denver, 2015: Global Citizen Festival, 2016: Philly 2, Fenway 1, 2018: Fenway 1, 2, 2021: Sea. I was worried that Heath would obliterate all other Jokers, but that didn't happen. Heath was amazing, and probably the best Joker (if not best villain) ever, but I can still enjoy Mark Hamill's voice work and Jack's Joker as well.I love my female wife...
we sit around and wonder exactly why our marriage should feel threatened by gay marriage0 -

but theres certainly a need for MORE! maybe nolan will have to dig deep and write a new bad guy for nolan? or im not familiar with newer batman comics but im sure theyve gotten more mature and there may be a bad guy in there for him to use0
