Think this is next, been meaning to get back to this series but so many to choose from...may deviate quickly if I don't jump back into this world easily.
Good stuff, F Me. You should be able to dive right back in, but even if not, just persevere because it's a great series.
my small self... like a book amongst the many on a shelf
Finally. Had it on hold via online library for months. Massive waiting list for it. About halfway though. Very well written book. Highly entertaining IMO. I did see the movie (twice! Really love the movie!), and am happy to see that the movie is true to the book. I'm sure reading the book before seeing the movie would make the book more enjoyable, but whatever.

With all its sham, drudgery, and broken dreams, it is still a beautiful world. Be careful. Strive to be happy. ~ Desiderata

There's been a plethora of books about The Who in the last year or so, to coincide with their 50th anniversary. The books vary in quality. I got this one for Christmas and so far I am loving it.
Begins by looking at them as kids growing up in postwar England and the rapid social changes taking place, while their parents' generation just tries to move on from the war years.
The Dream of Perpetual Motion, Dexter Palmer. I just started reading it. A friend recommended it.
I am sure that will be in the pile of books I get for 2nd Christmas this weekend as it was on my list. Can't wait to read, let us know what you thought when done.
Somebody gave me that book years ago and I never read it. Let me know what you think.
I'm about halfway through and I love it so far. It's very interesting and a lot more educational than I thought it would be. Gives a ton of insight into the behavior of our doggie friends. I'm recommending it to all the dog people I know.

I bought the Bone Tree by Greg ILes, then realized it is the last book in a series. I am having an awful time figuring out what other books are in this series. Anybody: Is this series worth it? and could I get a list of the books in order?
The worst of times..they don't phase me, even if I look and act really crazy.
Has anybody read Naked Lunch by William S Burroughs? I've heard it is really messed up and not worth the read yet it is a classic. I saw it for $10 in a book store and wasn't sure if I should pick it up.

Often, I read Sanderson Pages 69-102 last night. Been slow going with the XMas and New Years travels.
@Thoughts_Arrive --- yes, get Naked Lunch. Whacky/interesting book.
the bible the best book in my opinion and a few others right now im reading exodus 34;7
"Movement of Jah people."
And while I don't fully agree with you about it being the best book -- and I've read it all the way through (plus the apocrypha) twice, I will say that Game of Thrones ain't got nothing on the Old Testament.

Have read it cover to cover as well...and beg to differ -- GoT crushes the Bible IMO and it doesn't claim to be literal.

The Bible does not claim to be literal, F Me. That's on people and certain institutions.
I have not read the Martin books, but a lot of events from the show are certainly influenced by the OT quite a bit and a little from the weaker NT.

Sounds fair DK, I cannot recall the text actually proclaiming to be factual. [I also think the OT is certainly one of the most influential books around...why I think everyone should read it. So many references/influences in our culture.] Sorry to wander off topic, I am still reading Sanderson's Mistborn Book #2....need to get back to it!
this is part of a trilogy...I read #2 first (whoops) and am now back to #1...it really doesn't matter. very, very gritty stuff.
If I had known then what I know now...
