Seems too easy to me. Everyone is expecting that, so I'm gonna say no.

  • OK, late as always, but with a totally different take on it all.

Sayid is protecting the group that's still behind on the island. He does have that sense of honor that everyone's remarked about and I don't know that he trusts Ben, but he would work with the devil if it meant he could keep people he cared about safe.

I don't think Elsa was the target. (Too funny on the name...anyone remember Elsa in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade)? I do think that Elsa was the bait to try and determine if Sayid was the executioner. Was it just me or did she bear a striking resemblance to Shannon? And was that on purpose. Did he love her? I think so? Thinking with his heart and not his head.

As to Sayid falling into Locke's trap...I don't think so. He took MrISpeaktoTheDeadwithMyGhostbusterIssueVaccuumCleaner (and where is the Stay-Puff Marshmallow Man when you need him?) as his swap from the outset. Remember, he told Jack he'd do this with no killing and getting "caught" was his way to talk to Locke and propose his deal. I also think that Ghostbusterboy is there because of Jakob. There seems to be a real problem with the dead staying that way...which makes me wonder if Claire will stay behind because she'll somehow be able to see Charlie.

I am pretty pissed at Hurley, tho. Even if he does later admit his mistake to Jack.

Last comment on my steam of consciousness post...Ben's been off the island. Otherwise, why have all the passports? And oh please don't let Ben be the "him" that Kate was sneaking away from. Eeeek.

OK...let the shredding of the ideas begin! I take no offense unless anyone says that Sayid doesn't look DAMN good in a tux.

If he was just supposed to kill her, why go through the charade of dating her, etc. Just kill her the first time he is alone with her.

I think he was trying to get to the boss, so he used her, waiting for that beeper to go off. Of course, he fell for her, and the beeper never went off, so they developed something. Obviously it was more 'real' for him than for her, as she tried to off him and he cried after killing her. I honestly don't think he realized she was playing him though. Remember she spoke in German on the phone about it, but he 'supposedly' isn't fluent in it. The audience knows, but I don't think he did.

LOL...my poor darling Tybird...it was Valentine's night and I was having hot flashes over Sayid in a tux, Sawyer's offer to play house and Desmond...well...Desmond can just breathe and look fine to me. :)

Of course, Elsa and Kate did kinda round out the score.

I think its been fairly common knowledge that Michael reappears this season, by putting his name in the regular cast credits each week, the surprise of his exact point of return won't be spoiled.
Yes, it was on their website that they resigned him and he would have an episode detailing where he's been since he left sometime in the first 8 episodes. From what I read it is the 7th or 8th.

A little offtrack, but that golf club where they filmed the opening scene has a great lunch there. I can still taste the bread pudding from that place.

Btw, can anyone think why Charlotte wouldn't have told Farrady and Lapidus about Ben having a spy on the freighter?

You would think that would be knowledge you'd like to share before letting one of your companions fly back there.

Yeah, it's funny you said that. I was thinking the same thing....even though I knew he wasn't mentioned in the spoiler. Maybe they did that as he will be on next week?

Yeah maybe they filmed scenes with Michael and they got cut from this episode but they forgot to take his name off the credits.

Or they don't want us to keep watching the credits for his name on every episode and know that he's in one just because he shows up for the first time. (Does that make sense).

Someone meantioned earlier in the thread (might have been yesterday, I'm too lazy to look right now) that they thought Charlotte was Ben's "man" on the boat. The shooting was planned, the vest etc....so perhaps they were right.

In the 8PM rerun of last week's episode with the cute VH1 pop-up video bubbles, the scene where Miles the vacuum cleaner salesman/ghostbuster shows them the picture of Benry (where it looks like Benry is a mail room clerk at Dunder Mifflin), the pop up said "Ben has lied about never being off the island".

I thought only Juliet ever lied. ;)
