its a friendly but whenever brazil or argentina are playing a game is worth a look, I can vision a draw,,,,,,,,,,,I dont think there will be any sense of revenge really, only the mission of not losing the opening internationl at wembley.

one of them is brazilian, been selected in the copa america squad.
A few months back there was news that they were gonna sign two brazilian defenders who were twins???
they needed to buy this summer if they wanna stay ahead of chelsea, if ballack etc settles and there is no repeat injury crisis then they'll be stronger.

I spoke with a porto fan this morning and he was really sad that Andersen is going to leave and told me that Nani is also a real good player. I hope tat he will be sorry real soon again when Quaresma is going to sign a contract with Bayern München ( sorry pal ;))

Spurs apparently gonna pay 14M for Darren Bent.massively inflated price.

Rumours seem to suggest that Henry will go barcelona this summer, in some way wenger made a mistake not cashing in on him last summer......like he must have lost a few million in value the past year.

Saviola rumoured to be offered to west Ham...........premiership could be 21 teams next year if Sheffield Utd win their arbitration case,,,
  • stu geestu gee Posts: 1,174
If Arsenal actually went out and bought some players they might encourage Henry to stay. I still think he will stay for at least another year, but they need to spend money and bring in a few big names.

ok,i admit its a thin rumour but henry has been spotted at melwood(liverpools training complex) over the last few weeks......imagine.....oooooh,makes me feel all warm......

and us and spurs are in a bidding war for bent.....spurs can have him.
When I was born, the doctor came out to the waiting room and said to my father, I'm very sorry. We did everything we could. But he pulled through......

The annual game of "Thierry Henry : will I or won't I fuck off abroad"
Wenger is after Trezeguet so he might stay if he has a pal

I think Celtic should sign Marcus Bent and Darren Bent, then I can say Celtic's 2 forwards are bent :)

Canada jumps 38 spots in FIFA rankings
Last Updated: Wednesday, June 13, 2007 | 10:13 AM ET
    CBC Sports
Canada climbed 38 spots in the FIFA rankings released Wednesday by soccer's world governing body.

Buoyed by a pair of victories over Costa Rica and Haiti in the CONCACAF Gold Cup, the Canadian team jumped to No. 56 in the monthly rankings. Canada was No. 94 in May.

Canada's Dwayne DeRosario, second from right, scored two goals against Haiti earlier this week at the Gold Cup.
(Alan Diaz/Associated Press) Only Armenia, which improved by 48 spots, made a bigger jump in the rankings than Canada.

Canada, which plays Guatemala on Saturday in the Gold Cup quarter-finals, has rebounded after reaching an all-time low 103rd spot in March.

The United States is the top team from CONCACAF, the soccer confederation that covers North and Central America and the Caribbean, in this month's ranking at the No. 16 position.

Canada ranks sixth among CONCACAF nations behind the U.S., Mexico (No. 26), Costa Rica (No. 46), Panama (No. 52), and Honduras (No. 55).

World Cup champion Italy kept its No. 1 place in the rankings, while France overtook Brazil to claim the No. 2 spot.

Brazil dropped to third, Germany climbed one spot to fourth and Argentina fell two spots to fifth.

Portugal, Spain, England, the Netherlands and the Czech Republic round up the Top 10.

Nine teams, including Guam, Belize and the U.S. Virgin Islands, were tied for last at No. 199.

The next FIFA rankings will be published July 18.

Henry gone. With Dein gone the board must allowthis american shareholder to up his stake or fear losing Wenger at the end of the seaosn. If he goes then the whole ship will sink back to premiership mediocrity.

From the side that went undefeated in the 04season look how many have been shipped out, was a mistake letting Pires go a year back.

Messi,Eto,Ronaldinho,Henry,Deco..........can they all fit into the same team? Who will track back? only Eto seems bothered with the effort of defence, then again from a Barca perspective they assume they'll have possession most of the time.
  • elmerelmer Posts: 1,683
there is a chance Reyes could be brought back to Arsenal now that Henry has fucked off. could the gallic kings presence in the team have intimidated him? chance.

Donati signing for celtic by the end of the week. Never thought appiah would end up joining anyway, but heard that's been abandoned as he was going to end up costing 15 million plus over the next couple years. Craig Beattie away to west brom for a million, will be happy to get that for him!

Apparently mcculloch signing for rangers for 2 million. i wouldnt pay more than 1 million for him. They are also upping their bid for naismith apparently as well after their insulting first estimate. At the end of the season although celtic had won i thought that if rangers bought wisely they would be in a much stronger position but celtic have been far more adventurous and intelligent with their purchases so far in my opinion. If i were a rangers fan id be pissed off with their lack of commitment when trying to bring quality players to the club.

Bent signs for Spurs. 16.5M.....bloody incredible that they have paid that kind of money for a guy who has yet to prove anything. The price will be a huge burden around his neck, if he goes a few games at the start of the seaosn without scoring the press will be all over him.

Michel Platini, new head of FIFA or some such shit has told how he wishes to change the qualification ties of the champs lge. He wants the 3rd & 4th placed teams in england, spain and italy to face each other as opposed to weaker sides from places like latvia, belurus, slovenia. Presumably this will ensure sides from smaller nations get further in the competition spreading the cash a little more evenly.
sounds ok in principle but I dont like in principle the want for change within sport(they render past comparisons of teams and era's as obsolete). The idea injects socialist ideals into football which may not be a good thing.

Good point......and even from the perspective of the weaker sides and clubs I wonder how much they would support such a move. The oppurtunity for them to sale tickets and create season ticket packages that include a major Euro club side game has to create a solid marketing option for them.

first thierry now freddie.....geez the younglings are definitely gonna have to pull finger this season. still think they have a chance as long as they can stay consistent, the skills are there & with van persie back (fingers crossed that he's in form & remains uninjured) & even walcott showing promise pre-season hopefully the goals will come. eduardo should be good too, with the service our midfield can give i think a goal poacher will be just what we need up front. come on you gunners!!!

arsenal aside, can't wait for the new season :):):)
