I heard on ESPN News that Eli was going to have to have surgery on his throwing shoulder, and may miss half the season!

    you mean 6-10 right? ;)

6-11 could only happen if you count the postseason in the record, but a team with that bad of a record won't be making the playoffs at all

well if they stay away form injuries. they could've been. that damn secondary should rethink their careers as football players. I hope Eli is okay.

  • welll...... they lost today against my boys  Dallas Cowboys! 45-35..... turns out, eli was having some kind of pain on his shoulder.

sucks for ny... they got a lot of injuries.... so in a way.... cowboys should've blown them out.
This isn't the land of opportunity, it's the land of competition.

Report: Giants QB Manning out a month; team denies it

    Giants' Official Press Release

whatever the case may be, injuries had nothing to do with the giants losing to the cowboys last night.

they lost the game because their defense was even worse than advertised. i can't imagine why tom coughlin thought it was a good idea to move mathias kiwanuka to linebacker. he is not a linebacker by any stretch of the imagination. he was constantly out of position and the cowboys took full advantage. jason witten (6 catches for 116 yards) was largely kiwanuka's responsibility. he also looked really bad on romo's rushing TD. it seemed like #97 was trailing every big play by about ten yards.

meanwhile, michael strahan was about as much of a factor as tiki barber. and i'm not even gonna get into the problems with the secondary...

45 points from a dallas offense that was missing terry glenn... HOW IS THAT EVEN POSSIBLE?!?

eli played well. he was really the only bright spot for the giants last night. burress fell down on the interception, and toomer should have gotten his second foot down in the end zone.

it's gonna be a long year...

i was a sub-par LB in high school. maybe i can replace kiwanuka. :)

yea I heard about Eli this afternoon. he's gonna get a second opinion from Dr. James Andrews. The problems was mostly the secondary. And dallas' offensive line were full of 300 plus pounders.

if he's out for a month I'd go after Leftwich this way if anything happens least we have proven qb for the remainder as a backup.
this sucks already and its only the 1st fuckin game

fantastic... dr. james andrews always brings good news.

the secondary is awful. corey webster has been a bust, r.w. mcquarters shouldn't be in the league, and i'll never understand how sam madison managed to survive the series of cuts that landed luke petitgout in tampa bay. aaron ross didn't look good during the pre-season; also he's 25. how does a rebuilding team draft a 25-year old rookie? and do the giants even have a free safety this year?

but regardless, witten was not the primary responsibility of any of these guys. i don't care how good he is, 20 yards per catch by a TE is entirely unacceptable.

nice thought... it's definitely a possibility. i don't know if it's necessary though. they'd have to cut somebody (i vote for madison :)).

they're gonna have a tough time winning games anyway, especially if jacobs (sprained MCL) and umenyiora miss significant time. i'd be inclined to let lorenzen run the offense for now and see if he can establish himself as a quality backup.

    clemens is better than pennington.

    lorenzen is fatter than manning.

im not a hypocrate ,, but how can an nfl qb be overweight like that

its his job to work out and be in the best shape lol

his greatest value to the giants is on 4th and inches. nobody's stopping the QB sneak when lorenzen is in the game. he's as big as a defensive tackle.

he's got a hell of an arm too, but his biggest problem is that he doesn't release the ball quickly enough. he telegraphs his passes.

and it really pissed me off last night when he slid right in front of the first down marker on 4th down. that was a bullshit move.
