Pandora - so sorry for your loss. I've been through it. It's an empty, sucky feeling :(

Check out the cinder block in the picture below. It's where Gracie's flag is, so she can learn where to get out of the pool. This morning, she got so excited when I asked (baby voice) "do you want to go swimming?", she charged out the door, tripped on that raised area by the cinder block, ran into the block and actually knocked it into the pool! It was pretty funny watching her as she watched the block sink and the flag and her "bumper" float away .

Gracie is up to 35 pounds. She was under 10, when we got her. She's ready to rip Manny's dreads out!!!

Gracie is just beautiful- she's growing into her feet! Looks soo soft. Goldens are just precious. You are very lucky!
Jake was my wolf style dog- I miss him- funny how the memories just keep popping in my head. I wish I knew how to put a pic in here- I'll have to ask the menfolk!! Then I'll post Jake with Charlie(yellow lab with 6 inch legs!) and Maddie Lou Who (springer mix) when they were all together- the pack is broken now and my other two are feeling it.

In our house....we call that pose "Frog Dog" and they seem to like it...

Another thing I keep forgetting to mention on here is that sometimes when my doggies are all dogged out and sleeping soundly following a romp in the woods or at the Dog Pit, I like to sneak up and put a dog cookie on their pillows...so when they wake up, there's a nice little surprise for them...our wonderful little Pinky just loved that..well, so do the others, but you know....

And Pandora - I'm right there with you with the ache for a lost dog. It's been two years, but I think about Pinkerton everyday and I see things that I think she would have enjoyed..and sometimes I laugh...but I still weep for her...and the hole in my heart - I don't know that will ever heal...

The other two (Remy & Charley) were in the room when Pinky died, so they got to say their good byes and didn't wander around looking for her afterwards. They were sad for a couple of weeks and then they got all out of control (cuz the alpha wasn't there to keep them in line)...but over time they adjusted...and the alpha dog (besides my hubby) is our cat, which I swear sometimes is Pinky reincarnated...

Anyway, hang in there Pandora...you won't get over it, but you will get used to it.... This is the right place for support when it comes to anything dog...

hahaha! the frog dog!!! Thats my favorite!!! And i LOVE your idea of the scooby snack on their pillow when they wake up!!! You guys dont even KNOW how much i miss Surf and want another doggie. I mean you DO know but u know. I hadd a great dream that surf was laying nexxxt to me. Thanks you guys for always being here and for ALL the doggie pics!!!!

She may be wild but SO damn adorable!! As wonderful as our dogs are, we just got new BEIGE couches, so we are hardasses when it comes to that also. We have to put the cushions up vertically when we leave the house.....

It's going to be a loooooooooong time before Gracie gets left alone in the house ! She did let me "sleep in" until 5:15 this morning, so I'm happy about that !

Yeah, it's the Paws for a Cause again....Next weekend folks....I am so NOWHERE near my goal -- and last time I did this...the Pit People were wonderful! I realize times are tough, but even $2 helps....

My two pooches are rescues (so was our beloved Pinky), so this is a cause near and dear to us (along with Surfrider and CCFA/CCFC)...There's a link on my page that will give you all the info you need to donate online!

Sen you can come and have a slumber party at my house anytime you are in TN!! My teenage daughter had 3 friends over on the weekend, and all 4 of them, plus the 3 dogs somehow managed to sleep in (or around) her twin bed........ LOL I wish I got a pic of that.
