So I was cleaning and then heard Pearl chewing on something...found her in my daughter's room with a pen...it was a green pen and she now has lovely green stains in her fur...lol

How is potty training coming? That is the one thing that keeps me from getting Boomer a brother or sister.
Actually really well...she pees on the wee wee pads, not pooping on them yet, but she's pooping on the tiled floor in the kitchen so it makes for easy clean up...and every time we take her outside she peers in the yard and has pooped out there a few times also...so I think she's getting it rather quickly honestly...My bestie just got a puppy also and they're having way harder a time with potty training...

A little secret? Right after feeding, let the pups out to play, get them running around a little. Have them outside until pooping and peeing commence. Food tends to go right through pups!! Also as soon as she wakes up, take her out.
So Pearl Piggy had her first vet appt today and got her second round of shots...she has gained two lbs in the one week we've had her...lol she is a piggy with the food and she snorts like a piggy, so we added Piggy to her name...she's just so cute and such a little joy....
She also has a heart shaped spot on her hip...

No puppy photos. I would love to get a puppy but he/she and I would be looking for a new home with Boomer.
Question to WH and the other doggie people. Boomer has a new bad habit, stealing food from the table and wherever the kids leave it. I went through this with a dog before and put some hot sauce in a roll and left it for her. That did the trick for a while. Boomer sniffs it out and won't eat whatever I put it into. I would do some jalapeno seeds or something like that but I don't want to hurt him. Any guidance.
The tips you gave me for walking Boomer are working. Its a process correcting it but he is light years better.

We never see it. The little shit goes where no one is and then searches. Kids before school sometimes forget to put cereal bowls and such in the sink. Wife comes home from dropping them off to find cereal bowls and milk all over the kitchen floor. I tried spying on him to catch him in the act but he won't fall for it, much like the hot sauce. He seems to know where we are when and makes sure he doesn't get caught. It would probably only take one time caught in the act to fix. I finally caught him sleeping on the couch and gave him a stern talking to, reminding him for $60 he can be made to disappear. He hasn't done it since then and we know based on the hair left behind.

Ok make the table a 'no go' zone. In other words he's just not allowed at the table ever, for any reason. That's 'your' table. When he approaches, make him give three feet space. Continue this until he gets the idea. When you are not there to watch him, put the food in the center of the table and pull the chairs away. If all this fails, put salt at the edges of the table, when he sniffs up there to check for food the salt will temporarily burn his nose.. That usually Leaves quite the impression. Also salt works to stop compulsive digging too.
