I had my first gig last Saturday night and it went really well. I have one song Doggie Rescue that I wrote that I played again on Sunday at the fundraiser. Once I make a decent recording I'll post it so you can have a listen and tell me what you think.

Piper has had a hell of a weekend. yesterday she went to puppy play and I'm pretty sure this picture conveys how worn out she was



this morning, I took her to a pretty cool off leash trail. there must have been, seriously, 150 dogs up there...but everyone got along

I went to look at a litter of sheltie puppies yesterday:



Really, really cute! (I think we've had the discussion here before that there's no such thing as an ugly puppy.) Only 5 weeks old. I thought they were too young for me to get a feeling about their temperaments, even though the owners aren't letting buyers take them home until they're 8 weeks. So I didn't buy one yet.

So damn cute. Resisting the urge to get Boomer a brother or sister.

Boomer is in heaven. I gave him the fatty pieces from the steaks I grilled up. He rewarded me by catching a couple of flys from me going in and out grilling. I wish I had my phone on me when he did it. Caught them and ate them good.

It is getting so fucking hot again the flys want in to the ac just like we do. You open your door and they make a run for it. Flys and Mosquitoes we have in abundance out here. I was grilling, going in and out of the sliding door to flip everything and a few flys got in. With Boomer on fly patrol no worries though. He wiped out that problem at least until tomorrow when the kids let a few in.

It was all the way around the inside of a big wooden square where the puppies were kept. I don't know what the PVC pipe was for. I couldn't figure it out either. Maybe to keep them from climbing out?

I have a picture for the Motherf**ker thread - Lisa was on the floor by my feet this morning and then she suddenly scratched at a flea and her foot smashed into my shin. 65 pounds of back dog nails. John was laughing and blood was dripping on the floor. Nice.

she swims....she learned by the "sink or swim" method in a freezing ass cold reservoir when she was about 6 months(?) old.

Go Piper!

You have that moment when your dog does something so damn funny but it happens so fast no chance to get a video. I had it last night. The weather has really warmed up here. We are hitting 105 to 110. The frogs, desert roaches and other bugs are out in full force at night. You have a hard time walking on the sidewalk without squishing something every few steps. Boomer loves all of them. He doesn't try to eat them, he just loves sniffing them and following behind them as they try to get away. He was following a baby frog with his nose almost right on it as it tried to hop away when this monster of a frog jumped right next to him. That dog got so startled and jumped so high he must have gotten 3 feet off the ground. I have never seen him do that as it was such an akward leap into the air. I need to start wearing a go pro at night so I have something better to share other than stories.

There is a place on my way to work with a sign that says "Sheltie Puppies"....I was wondering what they looked like....soooooo cute!!!! Cuddly!!!!

They only get cuter as they grow. They don't look like shelties when they're tiny but they're nice and fluffy by the time you take them home at 8 weeks.



Not much luck so far at finding my next sheltie. Looks like it will be late summer before I can bring one home. It will work out; just wishing it would be sooner.
