I'm completely devastated. I'm hoping that the Chicago shows are going to be a catharsis for me.
Thanks everyone for sharing pictures of your pooches. They look awesome.

Oh my gosh, theBeach and Heavy Hands!
It's so sad to read stuff like this - it is a fact of life and something that must happen, but wow...it's so hard when it does. There really aren't any words to describe how awful it is to lose your close companion. The good part, if there is one, is that you can still love them for the rest of your life...and you have all the great memories.
My pup left us over 3 years ago now...and I laugh at her memories most of the time, but when I read about the departed pooches on here, I'm right back to that spot and I weep...
However, this isn't about me and how I feel..this is about you guys and how you feel - you will get a ton of support from your pitmates, which is absolutely incredible. It IS a good place to pour out your emotions because pretty much everyone here has had the same experience and they understand.
Please allow yourselves to feel every emotion you want to feel and don't ever think "it's just a dog", because that's not true...and people who say that do you, they've never had the wonderful experience of that special bond, and in your sadness, you realize you were lucky to have that with your doggy...
My heart goes out to you folks...be philanthropic0 -
Such a sad day on here!
We lost our first Boxer, Jamie Lee, in 2004 at 10.5 years.
One word of advice to people who have just lost pets -- WRITE DOWN your happy memories with your dogs while they are still fresh. We used to sing Jamie little songs ALL the time and she liked sitting in certain spots around the house and had crazy fetishes for shells and all these weird little quirky things --- but now that we have another Boxer and a Dalmatian, we somtimes can't remember which memories are which dog --- and we've forgotten a few of the little songs we'd sing to Jamie Lee which we thought we'd never forget. My bf and I were trying to remember the tune and words to one of Jame's songs the other day and we CANNOT remember and it made us both sad.
Take the time to write down some of the good, fun memories....you'll be glad you did 5 years later.★ 1995 - Brisbane ★ 1998 - Brisbane ★ 2003 - Brisbane ★ 2006 - Brisbane ★

I can't sleep. I keep thinking about my puppy Gabby.

Awesome! What is his/her name? Or did he/she just break in for a nap while you were gone?"A lot more people are capable of being big out there that just don't give themselves a chance." -Stone Gossard0 -

Good to see Chloe-girl again!! Gracie-girl's mother (my wife) has been letting Gracie up on our bed when I'm not around. You can guess the rest. Maybe I'll get a good night's sleep in another 12 years or so. :roll:If I had known then what I know now...

This my dog Django's first snow. It was Valentine's Day, 2003. He was about a year old.
We don't get much snow in North Texas. It snows 2-3 times a year, very lightly. That was the heaviest snowfall we'd had in many years.
My 2 shelties, Pete and Django, went outside to play in it and they just about went crazy. They wore themselves out, bounding around the yard and barking, as if this was the most exciting thing that had ever happened. We used this picture for our Christmas cards that year.
We lost our Petey in February 2008 :( but we still have Django, and he is a big, sweet bunch of fur.
I'm sorry about Gabby."The stars are all connected to the brain."0 -

HaHa !!
I know how you feel...ever since we got our new bedroom set which is lower then the last bed its been open season for the 2 devils ! The old set was too high for them (or so they thought) they could jump right up but they wouldn't
Bailey likes to lay right between us  Talk about body heat

Petey loves the snow too.~*LIVE~LOVE~LAUGH*~

That's a neat shot of Django! He looks a little confused. Like "I know something's different but I just can't quite put my finger on it..."
