Thanks! He is cute, which makes up for the fact that he can be insane sometimes. Like the pool. He loves it. If he sees people out on the deck he'll scream bloody murder until he gets to go out there too. But he's cute, so its OK.
the album is now updated with pics of a more grown tuppence having a bath and of our new puppy crinkles the black lab. finally got to perth --- good to have thins back to quasi normal. seeya

awww everyone's pooch is so cute...I would reply to each one individually but I just saw a whole bunch of new ones so that would take too long...good grief you've all got some sweet looking furballs!!!
Dogs dig for many reasons: because they are bored, stressed, lonely, hot or because they are hunting for prey (real or imagined). The best approach to curb this often destructive activity is to redirect his desire to dig towards activities that are more acceptable - to you and your neighbors.
Provide plenty of exercise
Chances are good that if you provide your dog with plenty of other exercise – walks, runs, and playtime - his digging activities will lessen, or disappear all together.
Avoid temptation
For dogs that dig out of a hunting instinct, it’s important to keep them away from areas that may have burrowing animals or insects. Keep an extra close eye on him in natural areas such as parks, open fields and your yard.
Designate a digging spot
If your dog continues to dig, give him his own special place to dig – such as a sandbox or small corner of your yard. You may want to loosen the dirt and mix in a little sand to help it drain in the rainy season.
Load it with buried toys, snacks and bones. Do this regularly and his pit will fast become his favorite (and only) place to dig? Let your dog watch the preparations and if he joins in, praise him.
Supervise your dog. If he digs outside of his designated spot, correct him with a verbal reprimand, “Dig in your pit!” Then praise him when he returns to the appropriate digging area.

cuz i haddnt seen him all day.
I sat on THE PORCH with him and he
leaned against me and i was scratching
his doggie stomach. Then i started
singing his song to him. Slowwwwly
he let his head fall on my lap and
knocked out!!! He was snoring like a HUMAN!!!
i was sooooooo happy cuz he hasnt
done that in a LONG time!!!!

This is Lucy. I love her so much, I put her up for adoption. She has been with her new owners for 5 days now and her quality of life is 100 times better than it was when she lived here.

I did miss them though~a house is not a home without a dog!

Glad you were able to make such a tough decision since it's benefitted everyone. Bittersweet indeed.
That was her only positive characteristic....her cuteness. Well, she walked nicely on a leash, those were the only 2. I rec'd an email from Bulldog Rescue, she has adapted to her new home and is the Queen of the apartment complex.
This handsome devil gets our full attention now...even HE is more relaxed and I swear his coat is shinier.
But here are a few stand-outs with background info:
We found Copper July 26, 2002 at a stop sign eating dirt. Heartbreaking. We kept him for a few days, put ads in the paper, made sure he was listed as a found dog @ the pound, etc. Nobody claimed him! Lucky us.
Here's Copper standing on a cat post. We taught him how to "balance", so now we make the poor guy do tricks for everything.
Here's Copper getting sexually harassed by a little Pomeranian. Since Copper lives with four cats, he plays really well with small dogs. But, this Pom Pom was taking it further than Copper was comfortable with. The Pom Pom followed Copper all over the dog park trying to get it on. It was soooo funny.
Clearly Copper needs a friend, so this summer we adopted TIMBER.
Timber was found a few blocks from where we found Copper; they were destined for each other.
Lady was a gift to my husband's family by his best friend who had been working at Oregon Health Sciences Center.
She was going to be used in their animal testing lab. :mad:
I'm glad she escaped that fate.

SENROCK! I have got to say that this thread rocks! I was just thinking today of what kinds of doggies the other pit members have......Love dogs.
My dog is the absolutely cutest thing ever. (Siberian Husky - pure white with crystal blue eyes, pink nose and light brownish red on his ears) His name is Snow, but he has many different names that he goes by. Boo, Boo-bear, Boo-boo, Mr. Fluff, Fluff...Fluffalufagus.
Alright, so I am a little obsessed. He is soooooo damn cute though!
I got him from the pound 0n 08.09.03. He is 100% pure and the best $82 I ever spent!
The previous owners were f@$kers and abused him pretty bad. So he was hand shy for quite some time. But now he is fine. He has the best personality you could ever ask for. Great with kids!
He is my pride and joy! Don't have a photo bucket account yet, but I will be sure to set one up this week to post pics!
