    I found this tidbit interesting:

Michelle went back on the pill, but she conceived and had a miscarriage. At that point they talked with a Christian medical doctor and read the fine print in the contraceptives package. They found that while taking the pill you can get pregnant and then miscarry. They were grieved! They were Christians! They were pro-life! They realized that their selfish actions had taken the life of their child. They prayed and asked God to forgive them, and to teach them to love children like He loves children.

    holy hell.

    That is fucked up.

I admit that Arkansas tends to be a little slower than most states...but they're still part of the U.S.A in 2008. I'm not sure the Duggars are. LOL

(I have several family members who live in Hot Springs, AR and I visit there frequently.)

I live in Arkansas... I must say, yes, a lot of people here can seem pretty backwards. But, even in Arkansas, "The Duggars", they come across like complete loons.

ya we need to be tv partners.

this kind of stuff and big love.. we are all set.

but in this day and age where a child cost so much to live that they would have so many. and sure they may find joy in the simple pleasures of life.. but who do you think paid for that house? and everything in it? us. cause we watch their shows and donate money and think "oh my god this woman has 19 kids, we should help her". and she just keeps poppin them out.

We could definitely be tv partners! And don't forget Dexter

EXACTLY! The same thing with Jon & Kate Plus 8. (Love them too, but why is Kate so mean to her hubby??)

Well, from what I've heard her body is in bad shape. She's had 2 c-sections and I guess it's REALLY bad for the mom to have regular births after c-sections (because of scarring). She had to search and search until she found a doctor who would do natural births despite the risks.

There is some controversy about whether or not a VBAC is safe or not. Some people believe it is a huge risk to have a VBAC; others will tell you that the risk is no greater than the risks that come with a c-section recovery. As someone who had a c-section and might have another kid, I don't know what to think about that! Every doc will tel lyou something different.

I would think that, after 2 c-sections, I'd be far less interested in continuing either type of childbirth!! I do remember hearing (around the time I had Annabelle) that they say it's safest to have no more than 2 c-sections.

    Ok. I'm rambling. :D

    VBAC...THAT's what's it's called...I couldn't remember.

And, yeah, I know my mom had 2 c-sections...and after my brother was born she decided no more kids.

I've been to Jonesboro, I think. Shockingly, I like Arkansas! It's a beautiful state...so lush and green...I always find it really relaxing and comforting when I'm back there. My grandparents live in Pearcy and up until my Grandpa died 2 years ago...they raised cattle.

    LOL! I know. LOL!

Oh, there was an episode where they were in the delivery room and while she was in labor she kept screaming "PRAISE JESUS". I found that hilarious for some reason. If I was in pain "praise jesus" would be the LAST thing I'd be yelling.

Unfortunately, I'm not more in the mountains of the Ozarks. It is truly serene, as you said. There are some things I quite detest about living here. The beauty, however, can really be quite remarkable.

That is insane. However, I respect their rights....at least he can somehow afford to board all those kids....unlike many people I see. One woman I know is 33, has 11 kids, and can pay for none of them. At least these people pay their bills. But yeah, they are freaks.

Wow....small world. My parents grew up in Pearcy (my grandma was postmaster there for 30 years and lived right by the post office) My parents now live in LR. I live in Jonesboro. This thread is all around freaking me out.

Holy shit. I think my grandma and grandpa used to live there. They had a barn out back with a pasture. They moved from there to Hot Springs, oh, probably in 1984 or so.

I am seriously getting freaked out right now. The house...down the highway from that fish restaurant?? And my grandparents lived on Lake Hamilton before they moved to Pearcy.

I don't remember the fish place, but I do know she used to walk out her front door, up a little hill, to work at the post office. It is a red brick house. There was a tree in front that I would get stuck in when I was little. There was a carport, and you would go into that door into the kitchen. It is a 3 bed, 2 bath house. I do not remember the address, but it had a storage shed, and a barn and a pasture where they kept a horse.

I think I am in the Twilight Zone. I don't remember her ever having a fire there, so perhaps that was with the owners after her. I'm really freaking out now.
