These cuts are leaving creases. Trace the scars to fit the pieces, to tell the story, you don't need to say a word.

    I found this tidbit interesting:

Michelle went back on the pill, but she conceived and had a miscarriage. At that point they talked with a Christian medical doctor and read the fine print in the contraceptives package. They found that while taking the pill you can get pregnant and then miscarry. They were grieved! They were Christians! They were pro-life! They realized that their selfish actions had taken the life of their child. They prayed and asked God to forgive them, and to teach them to love children like He loves children.

freaks... Seriously, that family is like a cult... they are home-schooled, their dad is their pastor, the girls aren't allowed to wear pants, the older ones haven't left the house, and they work from home.

By themselves, any one of those things aren't bad, but when you combine them all together, that is one backwards family.

Agreed! I just feel terrible for the children. They have to SCHEDULE one-on-one time with mom. How sad is that? Plus, the children are so sheltered from the outside world. Their only playmates are their siblings.

I just don't get it...... And yes I agree I think they are freaks.

But the part that gets to me the most is what the hell is having 18 kids doing to that poor woman's body? I am amazed after so many children that she is still able to carry a baby to full term.

Well, from what I've heard her body is in bad shape. She's had 2 c-sections and I guess it's REALLY bad for the mom to have regular births after c-sections (because of scarring). She had to search and search until she found a doctor who would do natural births despite the risks.

Yeah well in that case, that is pure stupidity because they are taking the risk of all of those kids losing their mom. Bah they make me mad.

With all due respect, why is the family backwards for doing all of those things?
Why should it be up to society to decide what is right for them to do?
The children are not being molested, beaten, ignored, etc.
Cause I'm broken when I'm lonesome

TC, you make a very excellent point. We do live in a free country and should be able to raise our children how we see fit. You are right they aren't being molested etc...and are probably well adjusted. My concern, however, is when they join the "real" world...talk about culture shock.

I truly and honestly mean no offense to the people of Arkansas, especially my Bill Clinton, but it is Arkansas....adjusting to the real world in Arkansas is different than joining it in say LA or NYC or even Taos.
Some people find pleasure in the simple things in life, like family and togetherness and shun the modern world. I don't blame them.
Dont' get me wrong...that is a shitload of kids.
But I don't think it is wrong for them to live their lives the way they do.

Progress is not made by everyone joining some new fad,

I admit that Arkansas tends to be a little slower than most states...but they're still part of the U.S.A in 2008. I'm not sure the Duggars are. LOL

ya we need to be tv partners.

this kind of stuff and big love.. we are all set.

but in this day and age where a child cost so much to live that they would have so many. and sure they may find joy in the simple pleasures of life.. but who do you think paid for that house? and everything in it? us. cause we watch their shows and donate money and think "oh my god this woman has 19 kids, we should help her". and she just keeps poppin them out.
