  • from the rangers blog in the journal news:

Meanwhile, the Rangers were busy wondering whether they were getting out of Westchester today or if they’d have to fly down to Carolina tomorrow. As of now, the plan is to push forward, but count Jaromir Jagr as a proponent of same day travel.

“In Czech league, we used to get there an hour before, get the two points and come home,” the captain said.

Marty Straka was sitting nearby, and he was asked if that’s how he remembered it back in the old country. But Jagr interceded.

“Marty was driving the bus,” Jagr said with a laugh.

Finally, in the Rodney Dangerfield memorial no-respect department, a new movie, "Music and Lyrics", was panned in a Sun Media review by comparing it to the New York Rangers. Have we really come to this, the Rangers compared to a chick flick? Come on, guys -- until Drew Barrymore straps on a pair of skates and shows she can take a body check, and until Hugh Grant grabs a puck and "blows" by the opposition, just leave us out of it.

    what a bunch of bums!

    go pens!

    bums?

    wow

what a little bit of good timing , a few promising rookies , and winning will do for some people
( i'll even throw in goaltending -from the looks of it, fleury single handedly stole that last game for the pens )

im sure you're still cleaning out the poo-poo from your pants about the Pens actually staying in Pittsburgh

just for the record, the season series between these 2 teams are tied 2-2 .

    the scores were 6-5 ( pitts ) 3-1 ( pitts ) 2-1 NYR and 3-2 NYR . ( no real, true " ass-kickings " there , )
1 shootout, 1 OT . These 2 teams, sorry to tell you, are pretty evenly matched, ( besides the standings/points ) but to call us bums doesnt say too much for your team either .

maybe you missed the other thread for the Pens, which suddeny surfaced within the past few weeks , after their recent success.

conversely, we'v been here alot longer and even when our team has gone thru terrible disappointing seasons as well as surprising successes-we arent bandwagon jumpers here, pal .

    yeah baby !

    3 in a row= streak.

rolling 4 lines, and looking good doing it.

we can forgive Karel Rachunek for the giiveaway ( leading to the only carolina goal ) but only because he scored the next goal..

    happy 35th birthday, Jaromir,

and thank god forsberg didnt wind up on Broadway, we dont need hiis fragile persona in our lockerroom- which seems to have hit stride, and finally developed some good team chemistry.

didn't think those guys cared about hockey...

these guys have Wang / Islanders on more often then any NYR stuff alltho they did have dolan a few weeks back, but we all know what got the primary focus ( Knickerbockers ) . I think Mikes friendly with Wang

it was decent interview with shanny, M&MD pretty much nominated him ( shanny ) for some type of executive job in NHL after he retires.

he has had alot to do with the rule changes, and he knows the game.

    refreshing to hear it today.
