He's the reason they even made the playoffs. Look at the numbers. He's a cheaper and better option over Khabby. Now we just have to trade Khabby since we're over the cap.

So you want a goalie that doesn't play well in the playoffs but get's you there

I agree Khabby needs to go

I didn't say that he didn't play well in the playoffs. His career playoff GAA is 2.65 and save % is .918. Neither are bad numbers. Remember, the Caps were not a great team in the least. He and #8 carried them. Huet finished the season winning 9 games in a row. I do think we overpaid, but we need to make the playoffs next year. He was the best goalie available, and we grabbed him. Go Hawks!

At least your team is making moves

The Flyers don't have much cap space and Hatcher wont retire to free up some cash

agree completely about cujo being better than raysoft... i am pissed that my 2nd favourite team had to be stupid and take a chance on this waste.

We lose on the finger deal. He is actually going to be good and is something that we need desperately in a smart defensive defencemen, who likes to take the body and doesn't mind dropping the gloves. But 3.5/yr? WTF!!!!!!!!!!!!! he's going to be our #4 or 5 d-man and could possibly play as a #3 so it's not as bad as it could be and in a couple years could actually look like a somewhat decent deal. But way too much for a guy with less than 100 games in the NHL.

I love the hagman signing. A guy who can score, who is incredibly responsible defencivally (sp?). I think the 3m/yr is not too much of an overpayment considering it is opening day of free agency.

Now Boston just signed Ryder at 4m/yr, that's a huge overpayment for a guy with 31pts last year. This may rival the finger deal for worst one of the day.

Kevin Lowe, Daryl Katz (new Oil owner) and Rich Winter (Hossa's agent) are meeting tonight in Edmonton.

Katz has his big introductory press conference tomorrow and wants to make a splash. Word is he's willing to overpay Hossa to lure him to Edmonton... 9.5mil for 5 years.

I believe the Redden deal with be a boondoggle within 2-3 years, his skills were really going down over the last 2 years
