I think the Leafs have just given up on Wellwood.

He did break his ankle over the spring and I think there was some miscommunication between his people and the Leafs people that didn't go ever well

Maybe Fletcher is mandated to get the stain of any JFJ contracts into the shredder

It also sounds like Wellwood is one lazy, unmotivated mofo. No off-season training, no optional practices, etc, etc...

Which is apparently A-OK with Vancouver. Canucks claim Wellwood off waivers.

Also, "TSN's sister station in Quebec RDS reports that the Montreal Canadiens have extended qualifying offers to forwards Mikhail Grabovski, Andrei Kostitsyn and Corey Locke, defencemen Josh Gorges and Ryan O'Byrne and goaltender Jaroslav Halak." Good news for me.

Panthers have placed Jozef Stumpel on waivers.

    June 25, 2008, 4:41 AM ET

We can still dream, but unless things fall apart in Tampa (as if they haven't already) Vinny will be a part of the Lightning for the rest of his career.

Isnt' that $8.5 mil a year on the cap ?

What will Malkin get or Hossa ???

guess the talking of how crazy the new Lighting owners were true

well, it's not that big of a gamble, especially for a team with no offense

Not yet. Sundin's agent asked TOR management about talking to NY, and NY said they didn't want his rights, so TOR gave the rights to Montreal.
You'll have to wait until July 1st to sign him.
