First, thank you for playing your race card.

Second, I'm not saying that all Asians are psycho killers. I'm simply pointing to the fact that the recent events involving Asian killers were very different.

They didn't give any warning or clues before hand. They lived quiet lives and shocked their peers when they carried out their murderous acts.

This is in contrast to the "White" killers who made threats and "To kill" lists. A lot of the "white" killers shocked nobody because they foreshadowed their events.

Yeah....I'm saying that Asian culture in general is more reserved and respectful. It isn't likely that a young man in trouble is going to voice his anger toward others. Cultural....
You’re assumptions are wrong. Don’t assume anything you see on TV. What makes you think Asians are reserved and respectful? They’re willing and able to torture their own people, and just because they bow and host Western visitors politely doesn’t make them ruthless behind close doors. Americans have done to war with many Asian countries and by now, Americans should realize what they’re capable of. What the TV and Hollywood media portrait Asians as passive and peaceful, it’s pretty much bullshit and stereotypical.
And now that more and more are coming like maniacs, it’s overwhelming surprising.

I’m not surprise at all with the recent events.

Oh and the race card? Cry me a fucking river! it's a recent trend too, racism has been going on for decades and we've dealt with it. and now the roles have turned and people are crying over reverse-racism. Deal with it!

That kind of think pisses me off. Fucking white people who thinks they know everything.

Wow, the guy was obviously making a joke and trying to add a little levity to this terrible incident.

Way to go racist, LongRd. Didn't take much for those true colors to surface.

So it's OK for him to make a joke? Imagine we're talking like this around the crime scene. Do you make a joke like that? with people going through different emotions.

The columbine kids had websites, "to kill" lists and expresssed their hate for fellow students before their rampage.

The Asian killers led respectful introverted lives and just snapped.

I'm saying that this difference is a result of the repect that Asian culture has as a whole. The killers followed their cultural lead by not expressing their anger toward others. One day they just snapped....

You may want to read the entire thread over again.

The context of my comments had little to do with the bus situation.

i dont think his jokes explicity connected to any details from the crime... im just as guilty for joking around there... this subject matter is so heavy that sometimes it helps to have a few stupid playful post... im sure neither he nor i meant any disrespect to anyone

I find it odd that I’m “the racist” here since my comment was basically a generalization of white people thinking they know it all. http://forums.pearljam.com/showpost.php?p=5731324&postcount=96 which seem to hit a nerve with you to call me a racist.

Yet stigfig13 and sgoassard3’s generalizing Asians seem to fly over your head easily.
Come on, let’s be fair, my comment and their comments were all false typical stereotypical statements. Yet, I’m the racist here.

I guess, the old saying is true. If it ain’t white, it ain’t right.

ok bud... i didnt call you the racist and i dont appreciate being called one from you... i was just standing up for stigfig13 since you seemed more heated than necessary towards him... no one said anything here even close to racism IMO... yourself included... so lets all just quit looking for a fight and play nice... besides its just taking away from the main point of the thread which is far more tragic and interesting than any "race war"

I never called stigfig13 or you a racist at all.

I just found out about this story last night on a Howard Stern forum, now I'm seeing it for the first time here. It freaks me out every time I think about it. How can someone do that? The world really can be a fucked up place sometimes.

No need to apologized, nothing you or sgossard said was racially offensive. I don't know what it is about "generalization" that triggers me to get into a debate. Sorry for derailing a thread of such awful tragedy.
