You have been not-so-subtly implying this is about my personal agenda. I am perfectly willing to see this fall as it may. As long as people are aware and know it's happening. I trust how it'll go then. However, when it's secretive, and covert, and operating outside our ability to even debate, prepare, adjust or exercise our voice on this, no matter what our views are, that's not okay."The opposite of a fact is falsehood, but the opposite of one profound truth may very well be another profound truth." ~ Niels Bohr

I don't know if everyone caught it, but if you really want to understand the intricacies of what the NAU entails, listen to Connie Fogal talk about it. Try to keep a relatively open mind, she really gets into he guts of how it affects us all on a per citizen/democratic basis.

Ask yourself if Europe right now would be willing to fall under US government mandate and scrutiny.

not sure what your saying there?
honestly, i am not sure what to make of it all, right now... but... it does appear the planet is shifting, for various reasons, to more "union" style trade and organization. mostly fueld by technology and communication technology IMO. i am not sure if i have a problem with this. i like the idea of the european union in some ways. i am not a big fan of an all seeing all being govt, but i do like cooperation and fair trading between nations. the EU has helped Europe become a world superpower, mostly through trading and economics. while at the same time providing social services and a safety net for its people (imagine that).
i think the NAU has become a priority for the western elite because of the emergence of the EU as an economic superpower. perhaps THE economic superpower.0 -

The US is going to impose it's laws and policies on Canada and Mexico. Not the other way around. It might just start with trade, but it will expand over time to become one single country in every aspect of the word. They essentially openly admit to this already and that it will include combining military infrastructure, so right there that turns me off. The Iraq war was a farce. US foreign policy is oppressive.
Someone tell me Bush is really just a f-in awesome face value guy, and maybe I'll reconsider. Same with my PM. I don't trust him for one second. People in Canada call Harper a Bush puppet. Same deal for Mexico's puppet.
Right now it's sheer idiocy to even think about doing this. Let alone be subject to three shady politicians trying and fool an entire continent into swallowing some secret back room deal.
This should have been out in the open in the public eye from day one!
Right there it tells you what kind of situation we have going on.
Also, I like my currency, and my country's banking system, and the value of my dollar, exactly the way it is.Progress is not made by everyone joining some new fad,

I also agree with you. Gradually expanding beyond limits and borders is evolutionarily sound. As long as it's not controlled by a few who hold absolute power. The theory is awesome. It's the implementation I'm concerned with . It needs to be done with awareness not be secretly brought about by power abuse."The opposite of a fact is falsehood, but the opposite of one profound truth may very well be another profound truth." ~ Niels Bohr

What I am saying is tell a room full of Europeans they now have no choice but to accept a new deal coming to join with the US so that they will have to combine and fall under US mandate and govern. They will also have to adopt the constitution in it's current state...be subject to the patriot acts, and the spying and wire tapping, and military policy, and go help fight their wars anywhere in the world when told to go fight. Did I mention torture, and habeas corpus?

Quite possibly, but I don't like the timing of this, or any of the people in control right now, so I'm taking a pass on this secretive undercover deal. I don't trust a thing the govt has to say right now at face value. It's just one lie after another.

And also, as a Canadian, I agree with the other stuff you said in your last post. I'm not fond of lowering my standards, and "levelling" the trade field, such as raising the amount of mercury we allow in our fish, for example. Ultimately it'll happen. I'm not fond of being "associated" with the US (as a machine) to much degree, but that is about ego. We are shifting. As we adapt to the changes, we will resolve the darker aspects and move forward.
We are shifting to a world spirit instead of a world ego. Instead of blockage and barriers, we are shifting to openness and cooperation. What we are witnessing and will witness for awhile is the death throes of the world ego. The shift from ego to spirit is very ugly. Synthesis is the basis of this era. Be happy for the falsity and ugliness that arises. It can't survive the light of day. It's better of to let it arise, and to excise it. It's better off than keeping it hidden and unconscious, where we don't see it but continue to live it.
The great part of these shifts is that acts of ego, selfishness, and limitation will be forced to fall away to greater and greater degrees. You said it yourself Roland--the karma for that small-minded stuff comes back very quickly. This is the quickening. The selfishness, limitation, ego, etc. will be replaced by the higher order of cooperation, mass sharing of information, and alignment of spirit.
If I knew more about the bible, I'd think some prophesies were coming to fruition. Have no fear, folks. The demons on the planet are exorcising themselves. Be happy!Join in on an evolutionary constructive level, thereby staying adapted and healthy, and enjoy the unfolding of the flower of humanity. Next stop: Global consciousness.
*visionary material as provided by author Stuart Wilde, from his 90s book "The Whispering Winds of Change" (one of my favourites ever). ie: world ego/spirit, death throes, etc."The opposite of a fact is falsehood, but the opposite of one profound truth may very well be another profound truth." ~ Niels Bohr

"When Parliament reconvenes in the fall, the House will be debating several anti-SPP motions brought forward by the NDP. It is interesting to note the relatively seamless transition from Liberals to Conservatives on this issue." - Jessica Johnston, THIS Magazine, July-August 2007
I provide this email to further update you on the NDP's efforts to oppose the Security and Prosperity Partnership of North America (SPP).
As you may know, the next North American leaders' summit begins later this weekend in Montebello.
I can tell you that we will be organizing grassroots town hall meetings right across Canada to ensure Canadians get informed and have their say.
You can help out too by forwarding this email to your friends and family to let them know more about this issue.
The NDP shares the opinion that the Conservative government has no mandate at this summit to lock Canada into an agreement of continental integration that seeks to undemocratically harmonize and weaken health, safety, and environmental standards. Instead, I have called on Prime Minister Harper to take this opportunity to discuss issues that will actually strengthen the security, prosperity and quality of life for all North Americans. Tackling climate change, closing the growing prosperity gap, respecting the rights of indigenous peoples and re-evaluating recent security initiatives are 4 key areas that should be discussed. My most recent letter to the Prime Minister on the SPP can be found at http://www.ndp.ca/page/5604.
You may have already noticed that our website now includes background information on the SPP negotiations: http://www.ndp.ca/stopthespp.
I have also attached a copy of NDP International Trade critic Peter Julian's May 30th question to the Harper government as one such example of how hard we are pushing for answers on this crucial issue. You can find out more about Peter's work by visiting:
http://www.ndp.ca/page/1444; http://www.ndp.ca/page/4413;
http://www.ndp.ca/page/4927; and http://www.ndp.ca/page/5550
Many have written to me saying that the NDP are the only party they can count on to stand up for Canada. And I want you to know that we will continue to do just that. All the best.
Sincerely,
Jack Layton, MP (Toronto-Danforth)
