My girlfriend and I haven't had sex but she orgasms before me usually when we do hook up. She's definitely not a cold fish, but at the same time, she has serious problems with random sex.

no shit. which brings us back to my initial advice... don't let that lovey dovey, touchy-feely crap cloud your mind. make sure she's going to be a tiger in bed. otherwise, the sweetest girl in the world can't hold your interest if she has absolutely zero sexuality.
I know for a fact that kidney stones hurt a lot more than child birth. I'm also pretty sure getting hit by a truck is more painful.
It's blown out of proportion. The only way to make comparisons is to find a woman that has experienced both. How many women have given birth and been kicked in the balls? Probably none.
I've known many men in this situation where they pay out their nose most of their income for their ex-wives, the money never goes to the children. With visitation rights they can see their kids, but can't afford to take em out to the movies or even buy them an ice-cream.
Oh yeah? Then why is it that gay men tend to transmit alot of STDs?
I don't think it's easier for women to get STDs. See, in order for that to happen, the guy would have to have the STD first... then it would seem that it's easier for men to have STDs. But in actuality, I think it's pretty much even, since that's how STDs are spread.
More gay men get STD's because number one, they are USUALLY much more active with many more partners than an average hetero male. Number two, one of the men is going to be ingesting fluids, I'd think increasing the risk, and then there's the added fluids from that pesky anal tearing.

child birth is more painful than writing a check. not to mention lost work, wages, and all the other physical symptoms. being tortured by al-queada hurts more than kidney stones, but we're not talking about either of those. we're talking about childbirth versus writing checks.
im aware men pay a lot in child support sometimes. im aware women abuse the system. im also aware that i would gladly pay any portion of my income to not ahve to try and work full time and take care of a child and household all by myself. i come home from work pissed off and stressed out as it is. if i had a crying kid needing a million things from me when i got home, id snap. look at your whiny, bitchy work post. what if you'd come home and had no chance to have an outlet here or cool off becos you had 2 kids screaming about being hungry and needing diapers changed and help with homework and lunches packed and whatever else.
im sorry, but there is no way paying child support imposes more hardship than raising a kid alone, unless the sole caregiver is already independently wealthy.
as to std's, they spread through fluid transfer. gay men have it more becos they engage in anal sex, which almost always causes tears and bleeding in the anal cavity. you inject std-laden semen into there and it IS going to spread. likewise, you shoot a load of std-laden semen into a woman's vaginal cavity, she will get teh disease. a man and a woman have sex though... there's only a tiny slit at the tip of the penis for fluid from the woman to get to the man. it can happen. but it's harder. lesbians have very low rates becos there is very little if any fluid exchange. obviously, this isn't foolproof and it doesn't apply to all std's. but as a rule of thumb, women have an open reproductive system and thus it is much easier for them to contract diseases when engaging in heterosexual intercourse.

All the money in the world can't fix shitty parenting. You may think my work thread was whiney, but honestly, I had a great night last night, I don't let stuff stick with me, though it irks me, the thread was getting a different perspective. I wouldn't come home to crying and screaming kids. If that was the case, it would be the person's fault that was looking after them. If they are hungry, feed them! If they want candy, you can blame yourself for getting them addicted to it in the first place. Humans are machines, if you can't figure out how to raise one, then you've only got to look in a mirror to find the problem.

No, you are correct to a very small degree, but it's not even really noteworthy. STDs are transfered by a wearing down of the skin via friction. If a guy has genital warts, it's pretty obvious. If a woman has them internally, they can go undetected. Besides that, a lot of STD transfer occurs with condom use, it occurs because of external friction from the repeated slamming of the pubic region.
I necessarily have the passion for writing this, and you have the passion for condemning me; both of us are equally fools, equally the toys of destiny. Your nature is to do harm, mine is to love truth, and to make it public in spite of you. - Voltaire

i had a long reply but lost it. ill just reiterate 2 points about your first contention:
1) clearly you have no experience with small children. i find it laughable that you think you could raise a kid who will never scream or cry or demand something you cannot give or shut up. i truly hope you have no intention of reproducing becos you are clearly not prepared for it.
2) just to be sure... are you seriously claiming that all the actions above you listed are less work than writing a check?

not all stds are through fluid transfer. for example it's a misconception that lesbians have very low rates. lesbian and bisexual women have low rates for hiv, hep b, gc and ct. however, rates vary significantly for herpes, hpv, and bv.

if a woman has herpes or hpv it can show on the outside as well. also, it's possible to feel them if they're inside.

Many people raise children that do not behave that way. Children's behaviors tend to reflect the behaviors of their care-givers or their social environment. You are ignorant about child development, but not everyone is.
2) just to be sure... are you seriously claiming that all the actions above you listed are less work than writing a check?
Let's examine this "writing a check". First off, you need money in your account to write a check. Where does this money come from? Work. The average guy works a pretty shitty job in a factory or office of some sort. Working is a constant headache, your job doesn't take naps, it doesn't play nice or listen to firm instruction. Some jobs, especially factory work are very taxing on the body and can be quite painful when something goes wrong. I worked in a factory for two months, while there I cut my hands several times, got burned from molten plastic, saw others almost get hit by forklifts, get burned, get caught in machines, etc... Working in a factory is a lot more taxing on the body over a longer period of time. Child birth lasts what? A day. Work lasts most of your life. I'd say there is a huge difference between enduring a bit of pain for a day or two than working your ass off for the rest of your life. I'd trade my obligations to work for a few days of extreme pain. As you may recall, I was hit by a truck and it hurt for a long time. I am still paying for it with a malaligned jaw. I got a settlement out of it, but it doesn't amount to what a single mother collects in child support over 18 years.
There are plenty of things in life worse than raising children or giving birth. Personally, I'd love to have the opportunity to experience it. Pain is a small price. What could be more significant than having the opportunity to raise children?

genius, the caregiver also works bud. so while you whine about your job, the other caregiver is suffering the same pains of job work. that single parent works his or her ass off at a job for life too chief. only unlike the check-writer, when they go home, they don't get to just kick back and relax and unwind. they come home and have to run kids to soccer or do all those other things. it is like working TWO jobs for the rest of your life. and it is a hell of a lot harder than working one then going home to crack a beer and masturbate.
there is not a child in existence who went their whole life without throwing a single temper tantrum or crying and screaming fit. such children do not exist. the only babies that do not are those in african orphanages becos they have learned nobody is listening and can help them. you cannot reason with a small baby. it cries for attention. try speaking to a parent. studying a textbook does not make you an expert parent. you learn more about child development by spending time with chilldren than looking at graphs.

You don't live in Canada, do you?
I've known many single mothers who do not work and collect almost $3000/month while living in subsidized housing that costs $180/month for a 3-bedroom townhouse. I make about $2000/month and pay $1000/month in bills. That's a difference of almost $2500/month that those single mothers have to raise children with. It can't cost that much. In addition, they don't work, at all!

True, they will have tantrums, but there are a hundred and one ways the parents can react to it. Some of those ways will calm the child, some will exacerbate their discomfort. If a child is screaming for attention, I suggest you give it to them. Children need stimulation to develop, studies show that children who have more positive interaction and instruction from their care-givers develop better and faster.
I've personally known young children that do not throw very many tantrums at all. My cousin will come over to my place and happily wash my walls at age 10. She likes doing it, she likes helping adults and fitting into the adult crowd and she is very well received as an adult. One way to ruin that is to treat her inproperly, as most treat small children. 10 isn't that young, on the other hand my ex-gf had a 5 year old that was very pleasant. She liked to clean up the garbage at the park instead of playing on the swings, she had maybe one tantrum in the 3 months I saw her mother and it ended within a few minutes. Her mother loved her more than anything and they had a solid connection. All it takes is for the mother to withdraw emotionally and the child acts to rectify the disconnect, but it requires a solid relationship.

interesting. becos i've heard that child-birth, women's sex drive plummets. maybe only single or childless women do that.
ROFL this is the most rediculous thing I have heard here yet! Childbirth causes a womans sex drive to plummet? What women are you associating with? They are giving you completely made up information. Oh...right...its probably the guys in the dorm!
Makes much more sense, to live in the present tense.
A truly liberal person is conservative when necessary.
figures, when they're at their peak of sex appeal and looking their hottest, they don't want you to touch them. but once they get to the point where the last thing you wanna do is bury your face in those wrinkles, suddenly they want you all the time.
UHHH don't forget that when THEY have wrinkles...so will YOU!!!!!
Makes much more sense, to live in the present tense.

When I was a virgin, I told my girlfriend I had had sex before.
After the first time, she said, "I'm proud to be your first."
I'm a horrible liar.
How long did you wait before deflating her?
sorry... couldn't refuse...
Progress is not made by everyone joining some new fad,
and reveling in it's loyalty. It's made by forming coalitions
over specific principles, goals, and policies.

Maybe ss is confusing childbirth making a woman's sex drive plummet and having sex with ss making a woman's sex drive plummet.

More gay men get STD's because number one, they are USUALLY much more active with many more partners than an average hetero male. Number two, one of the men is going to be ingesting fluids, I'd think increasing the risk, and then there's the added fluids from that pesky anal tearing.

2) just to be sure... are you seriously claiming that all the actions above you listed are less work than writing a check?
not all stds are through fluid transfer. for example it's a misconception that lesbians have very low rates. lesbian and bisexual women have low rates for hiv, hep b, gc and ct. however, rates vary significantly for herpes, hpv, and bv.

i was responding to the claim that "more gay men get stds".
cross the river to the eastside
if a woman has herpes or hpv it can show on the outside as well. also, it's possible to feel them if they're inside.

that's why i typed "this isn't foolproof and it doesn't apply to all std's"
well good. and there are ways to prolong an orgasm during 'touching sex'.

you should have replaced 'foolproof' with 'correct'

Many people raise children that do not behave that way. Children's behaviors tend to reflect the behaviors of their care-givers or their social environment. You are ignorant about child development, but not everyone is.
Is it sheer numbers, or percentage. And I was only responding to ryan's question about why so many gay men seem to contract diseases.
I think we agree here.
I think.

For a smart guy, you have so much to learn.

All it takes is for the mother to withdraw emotionally and the child acts to rectify the disconnect, but it requires a solid relationship.
no, i dont. not every single mother is so lucky. and even then, id gladly prefer working for peanuts to dealing with the 24/7 job of handling the emotional crises of kids.
precisely, anytime they cry or call, you have to be there. that was my point. you get home from work, and you cannot relax or unwind. you must be receptive to their every demand. there is no rest, no breaks, for parents.

You don't come home to the wife saying "I looked after the kids all day, it's your turn!"?
