John McCain for President

Yes, he was on the moderate side of conservatism...until he ran for President this time. Embracing Pat Robertson, the Bush tax cuts, and Geroge Bush in general isn't the John McCain I once admired. I liked him a lot better when his campaign was running out of cash and everyone wrote him off as dead.0 -

Personally, I'd call Bush the same thing.0 -

I absolutely love that you use johnmccain.com as a reference for your love of McCain. Everything you read about him or said by him is clearly truth, not to be questioned. But anything Obama or Hillary says is dissected and cross referenced. Just say you like McCain and move the fuck on. This thread could have been worthwhile, but like most threads that get your fancy, you hijacked this one and now have 5-10 people tearing you a new one.
And for the love of christ: stop trolling, waiting for a reaction, then telling everyone else they're the reason this board sucks. YOU are the exact reason people spend less time here. Personally I'd like to see a variety of ideas and personalities posting, but your bullshit clogs everything up.
Edit: Wow, sorry everyone, had to vent there...
yep, and he's an ass kisser, too:lazymoon13 wrote:on a side note, it sure is refreshing to debate/discuss this with guys like mammason, ledveder, farfrom......finally some respectful level headed people on here. we may not agree on much but at least we can discuss these issues like adults.

i'll be sure to put that on my to-do list.
tell me, if you don't agree with mccain about iraq, and iraq is probably tied with the economy for our most pressing issue, how the hell can you support him for president? is the iraq issue not an issue in your world?"Ladies and gentlemen, the President of the United States, Barack Obama."

its a very big issue. but I'll probably never find a candidate that I agree with A-Z on. my choices are a guy who wants to stay in Iraq until its done or a guy/gal who will raise my taxes. sorry, I dont want my taxes raised. and secondly, I think hilary/obama will end up with a similar Iraq strategy. they just dont have the guts to admit it.0 -
Does McCain have a colostomy bag?Progress is not made by everyone joining some new fad,
and reveling in it's loyalty. It's made by forming coalitions
over specific principles, goals, and policies.

First let's get Hillary and Obama to stop beating up each other. This extended race is seriously jeopardizing our chances in the general.0 -

"withdrawal would condemn Iraq to civil war and intervention by its neighbors and energize al Qaeda and other jihadists across the globe. This would gravely jeopardize American security"
http://www.johnmccain.com/Informing/Issues/FDEB03A7-30B0-4ECE-8E34-4C7EA83F11D8.htm
but he's not.
That is not an answer, that is mumbo jumbo.. if only you take a moment to think about it. First, this is an admission that the leader of the republican party has mistakenly caused this situation that will cost billions of dollars and thousands of American lives for many years to come - not to mention what will be suffered by Iraq. Yet, McCain supported this mistake and supports the man most responsible for this grave error even today.
Second.. lest not say condemn Iraq to a civil war because Iraq wants/needs a civil war. Our error has condemned a million Iraqis in 6 years, and countless wounded and displaced.. and is currently condemned to a lawless land not save for even their woman and Children. If a man says we are doing this for the good of Iraqis.. he in not able to lead a bowling team never mind a country
now the part about shaping the thought of Al Qaeda and the terrorist??? you really buy that... we are doing that so they think we are tough or something??? and if we stop this they will be energized whew.. please!
I am pretty sure there are many millions of acres of lawless land on the planet for Al Qaeda to gather and plan. They don't need Iraq. They can in very many areas in Africa, and they have friends in many areas throughout the Middle East.
That logic is whaco!
now someone else said the war is unpopular in the US.. and it is quite unpopular.. but there is still a very very large segment of the population that gets off on the military and taking vengence on the middle East and feeling tough and that is all they need to secure their vote in the national election.. so boom .. mccain automatically has all of them..
but non of this matters.. Americans are still shaped by the television and not even close to ready to elect a woman or black man.. we are stuck with McCain
just about everyone knows the televions crafts what it says carefully to pursuade and deceive for profit... but nobody tends to think they are pursuaded or deceived .. kind of funny really...

well, yeah. Because the Dem race is still contested. McCain has been the presumptive Republican nominee for months.
I didn't vote in my state's primary, but I'll sure as hell vote in November. I'd wager there are many people like that.
I don't think measuring the primary turnout is an accurate gauge of which side will win in Novembre at all.everybody wants the most they can possibly get

why would republicans vote when mccain is already the nominee? you do realize this isnt the general election yet right?0 -
really this isnt the general election yet? damn where have i been?
in states like ohio, pennsylvania, florida dems turning out in big numbers will have a tremendous impact. oh also cnn showed some stats last night...new dems registered compared to new republicans, 4:1 doh! lol7/1/03- DC, 7/12/03- Hershey, 9/28/04- Boston, 10/1/04- Reading, 10/3/05- Philly, 5/27/06- Camden I, 5/28/06- Camden II, 5/30/06- DC, *7/22/06- Gorge I, 7/23/06- Gorge II*, 6/20/08- Camden II, 6/22/08- DC, *6/24/08- MSG I, 6/25/08- MSG II*0 -

yeah, that's great. So what?
Talk to me in November. A lot of those people won't show up if their candidate doesn't win the primary.
I'm not saying the Dems can't or won't win. I'm just saying I wouldn't get too cocky. The Dems have two candidates that have already proven to be beatable in November. If Hillary somehow ends up with the nomination, it's over. McCain is the president.everybody wants the most they can possibly get
